Why take this course?

This course is a comprehensive guide to mixing for music producers.

At the end of this course, your tracks will be transformed into radio-ready, commercial quality songs which you can pitch to labels, contests, or simply release for your fans.

I created this course because I wish someone had taught me these principles when I was just getting started producing music. I had spent all of my time learning about synthesizers, recording live instruments, drum programming, and audio unit processing. I had a pretty good knack for making cool sounds and composing songs, but once all of the elements were piled together, more often than not it sounded like a jumbled mess. It was nowhere near the clarity and punch I heard on the radio or professional tracks that I loved.

It was at that point I realized that I needed to develop my mixing skills in order to be a truly good producer.

That's why I created this course -- to save you the trouble and headache I experienced when trying to produce music without a good foundation in the principles of mixing.

This course will take you from a good producer to a great one.

It is true that the roles of mix engineer and producer are different. However, in these days of home recording and DAW-based music production, these roles will often overlap significantly.

In this course I will teach you all of the tools and tricks of professional mix engineers so that you can make your tracks shine with the commercial punch and clarity labels and fans want to hear.

We'll cover every aspect of mixing including: room acoustics, monitoring, mix preparation, equalization, compression, audio time and pitch editing, automation, plugin processing, return effects, and everything else in between.

Using 45 high definition video lectures, I'll walk you through the entire process of mixing from exporting your tracks all the way down to the exporting for mastering stage.

We'll be using Logic Pro X in this course. What if you use a different DAW? Well, this course is all about the theory, practice, and process of mixing. I teach you how to listen to your tracks, what to listen for, and how to creatively solve problems that may come up. Obviously, users of Logic will have a slight advantage since many of the tools we use will most likely be familiar. However, the concepts and techniques apply to every DAW so don't dismay if you are not a Logic user.

Even if you're sending off your tracks to a mix engineer, you don't want him or her to make all of your creative decisions. Being fluent in the language and technique of mixing will make you a vastly better producer.

Sign up for this course today and transform your productions into the commercial quality you've been aiming for.

Great course, learning a ton. Lots of visual examples. I do think that some topics are quickly glazed over, but audio engineering is a vast subject and it would be impossible to make a class this brief without losing some things. I do recommend.

Dylan does an excellent job of taking you through the process of setting up your audio files in a step by step manner, keeping your workflow organized, and setting all your levels and elements of your mix to a professional standard. Well done!

I think it’s a great course! I learned a ton and would 100% recommend. I wish we had even a little more time spent on EQ masking and using compression to add clarity, I would have loved to know that, but this course is a fantastic start for people to really get a grasp of how they can mix their songs and take the mix from eh to good!

A fala do palestrante traz informações úteis mas sinto falta de material visual (slides com figuras) para ilustrar a fala.

Worth every penny! I have watched a lot of videos about mixing and music post production but none comes close to the level of attention to detail that Dylan has shown in his lectures. There is something here for everyone on every level from the movie to the professional. I am definitely learning a lot here. Well done Dylan!

I like the voice and pace… I also have some background and I think some precision is lacking, for example it’s important that references be “dropped in” to a track without effects or plugins, and that they be 192 bit WAV files, not average MP3’s, even if it’s not the main focus of the course. It’s still intro, and I’ve little doubt he’s good at what he does, so don’t get me wrong. I hope my comments are received as constructive.

This course seems to be based on tracks that have all been produced electronically, but I'm working with recorded stems and need to know how to get the sound of each instrument right before the mix, so it puts me on the back foot before I've started. Getting there though and still got the eq and compression sections to go so we'll see what happens!

I knew a lot of this knowledge coming into this course, but how he organized his process was every detailed and informative. I learned how to have a more organized and clearer mix and improved at preparing a mix for further mixing or the mastering process. I feel a lot more confident making music for others and am excited to head into my next mix.

So far, I really like the presenter's open-minded approach and awareness of different situations. Also, he clearly understands the overall goal of this course.

Although I'm using FL Studio on Windows some concept are helpful. What I can't really relate to some terminology specific to the pro tool DAW and Mac OS. Already have the fundamental of producing music but I'm stuck with mixing. I have created more than 30 music (without vocal yet) but I feel in my core that's there's missing in my mix.

not what i expected , after i read the reviews i decided to check the course , but unfortunately , i do know more than you , you didn't talk at all about the gain staging level or pre gain before you start mixing the channels , you didn't talk about the sweeet spot levels for the tracks where it shouold be , you didn't talk about mixing Mid/Side , i didn't like the course

This is a very well put together intro into mixing for producers and just mixers in general. All of the lectures are just the right length so that it doesn't get overwhelming but also does not skip out on any of the important information or examples.

I am in intermediate-level mixer. This course was incredibly helpful in reinforcing some of the basic concepts and workflow methods. I definitely learned a few new tips as well. Great for beginners or intermediate mixers.

There's a lot of new learning's which I've got from this course although I know a lot of stuff before starting the course , this course is very well structured and it sets you up with the MIX , the course emphasizes on how you can simply with just EQ and Compressor make a huge diff in your mix , great course for this price

I'm not quite a beginner, so at this stage, I'm not hearing a lot that I didn't already know. However, I like the pace of the lecturer and level of thoroughness that the course seems like it will have, and I expect to learn a lot.
