Learn Delay: The Complete Guide to Mixing with Delay!

Very though and clearly explained. The audio examples are way louder than the instruction and some times repeated too many times, but it gets the point through and ample time to get that point. I thoughly recommend despite my criticism

I bought this because i wanted to learn some creative techniques on how to put delay on instruments in your mix. After the great 'Learn compression' course by Signature Sound i was very eager to start with this one. I noticed in the course content that it has more videos on putting delay on vocals than it has on instruments but still, about 20 minutes on drums and a little more on guitar. What a dissapointment it was when the drums part was only about bobbing your head to the song. About 18 minutes was again all about vocals. Next you get Lead guitar which also again, gives you some vocal examples... I think Emilio is a good instructor, he explains everything clearly but does it a little to slow for my taste (hearing the effects on long parts of the song over and over). Also, this course is more about him showing the effects and what they do, you won't see him twist the knobs that often, sometimes the delay effect is already set. Was it worth the €15 i paid for it? Yes i think so, i learned some new things so that's already worth it for me. Is it worth buying this for full price? Absolutely not. After the history lesson you get only about 2 hours of video where for example, 'Learn compression' gets you more than 7 hours of better quality video material. I am too late for the refund (quickly bought it when it was on discount) but also do not want to get my money back as I just really hope this tutorial will get some additional videos with delay creativity on intruments. Then i will ofcourse adjust my review rating. Summary: Cons: - Only about 2 hours of video material - Drum part is not about delay on drums - Way to much geared towards delay on vocals - A bit slow sometimes Pros : + Emilio is a good instructor + Great song for showing the effects + Good explanation of the different kind of delay effects What i wish to see: More videos showing delay effects on instruments; Drums, synths, etc. Also still looking forward for some Signature Sound courses on Reverb and EQ!

Good content but sometimes lost exactly what was happening configuration wise due to a lack of Pro-Tools knowledge.

Thank you Elmo and Signature Sound for putting together such a great course on delay. Each mix is different, which is why I loved to hear the thought process behind your methods. I applied some of your delay techniques/ideas to a track of mine and it definitely brought excitement to my mix. Excited to play around with everything I learned on some of my music.
