MIndfulness meditation has ancient roots in Zen buddhism, and became popular when Jon Kabat-Zinn started a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the University of Massachusetts in 1979. Since then it has gained in popularity. In this course you will learn what mindfulness meditation is, and how to practice it. Instructor was clear with the exercises, sometimes a bit superficial, but overall great for an intro course. A couple of the sessions had audio that cut out unexpectedly (esp the last, section 4), which was frustrating.

I started Mindfulness Meditation couple of years ago using "One Moment Meditation" online. The cartoon walks me through the process. It's a habit now. I began COUNTING my breaths... to 100. I wanted something more advanced, to explore mindfulness. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

I wish there were more information on the research and physical benefits of the meditation. The understanding of the mental benefits were great and the practices are also helpful. I really enjoy that the recordings were available for download to listen on what ever device.

I got this course for free so I honestly wasn’t expecting much, but it was amazing. The instructor is knowledgeable and personable, and the video is very well done. This was a great course. It's helped me immensely to cope with depression. I'm so grateful to Susan Weinschenk for making this available for free. It's an excellent resource, the teaching is clear and accessible, and the tutor is friendly. I'm going to be doing an eight-week MBCT course next month, and this is terrific preparation.

Body scan mindfulness meditation is awesome. But starting lessons are bit boring but rest of the things like research evidences are really awesome as it tells how your brain get trained and how meditation really improve your memory and reduce inflammation in your body and how meditation makes more connections between neurons.
