This course is designed for students that are new to Microsoft Access, are upgrading from a previous version, or have a basic understanding and are looking to sharpen their skills. If you’ve been using Access for years but are convinced that you’re not utilizing its full potential, then you need this course.

If your Excel spreadsheets keep crashing with too much data, then it’s time you got to know Microsoft Access. Let us show you how.

Here’s what our students are saying…

“This was a great course. I already had a base in some of these programs, but this has taken my understanding to a whole new level!”

- Nathaniel Andrew Putnam

“Great course!

I've created some decent Access databases in years past but it was mostly self taught through reading and some early YouTube videos. There was much that I didn't know or comprehend that left my databases incomplete or didn't perform the way I wanted. This course explains all of the things I was missing.

Tons of information provided and explained very well. Access is very powerful with so many options, properties, and such that it will take a beginner quite some time to become proficient but this course explains so much, with many examples that reinforce learning. Macros, SQL, and VBA, has been a big mystery for years...for me. The instructor walks you through the basics and now I have a foundation to pursue these topics further without hesitation.

The instructor is pleasant to listen to and is very organized in the information given, both in order and detail.”

- David Keach

“I am using access 2019 and this course is very informative. I want to say think you for taking your time and explaining each step. I recommend this course to everyone who wants to improve their access knowledge.”

- Adam Hanek

The course and included files were well thought out and most functioned as expected. The link tables was extensively used because the links didn't carry through after downloading and put into use. I had to guess about which files to use to follow along with the instuctor most of the time. Maybe a bit of a message at the beginning of each section subject naming what files to follow along with would be helpful. Overall I enjoyed the course very much and look forward to expand on the foundation this provided.

Great course with right pace and insight. I would give it 5 stars if all the example/demo databases were accessible as resources for students.

This is more like a Tutorial but not a Course. It has A lot of content, but very poor explanations, database principles are not explained. The exercise example its not clear on what you should do either. Good for people that already handles database principles and SQL, not for complete beginner's

At the very beginning, and I'm a relative beginner to Access, so this has been good for me so far. At the halfway point, I've learned a lot of really good stuff. It will take utilizing that stuff for me to be come more comfortable, but I am able to "tweak" Access Template databases much better now.

The author is extremely thorough right from the beginning. Assuming no prior knowledge she holds your hand navigating through every menu and option in Access explaining what everything is. If you are already familiar you can skip ahead and/or watch at up to 2x speed until you get to a point where you need to slow down and focus in on the content. Her explanations continue strong when you get to start building tables, importing data from both Excel and plain text documents, sorting and filtering data, and building relationships between tables. I'm about a quarter through the material so far but this is exactly what I was hoping for when buying this course. Our company is leaning on Excel a little too hard so I'm looking forward to building out a robust database solution in Access with the knowledge I'm gaining from Simon Sez IT.

Great course for those starting out using Access 19. I have found there is very little difference with Access 2016 in Office 365. Overall, very clear explanation of each facet of database design for beginners or intermediate users. I highly recommend this course to anyone wanting a solid building block to using access to design databases.
