This course is good for people who want to learn about bookmaking. I got this course as a gift, but bookmaking is not my thing. Also, a lot of digital bookmaking can be done in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Lightroom.

I think it's a good match for me so far. Planning to watch all the way through and then go back and watch taking notes, before launching into learning a selected software. That's possible isn't it? Over all -- good job!! Learned a lot. Thanks!!

Yes, it was a good match. It helped mostly with the Photoshop part and how to create layers and masks for the book images. I wished it spent a little more time on color correction/monitor calibration and so on, but I suppose it is probably another course all together. Overall, a great presentation. Thank you.

This course is fantastic if you are looking for a way to take profit of your photos. I have learnt many techniques to make an amazing photo book. Robin Nichols will teach you really well, he is a well-known in this area! I think I will buy the another course he has about inDesign. It's great!

It's slightly different than other courses I've taken on Udemy. So far I've only been sitting in front of my computer watching, listening and reading along to whatever pops up on the screen. Added to that, I've also had to make quite a few 'Bookmarks' as I go along I did this because I doubted if there was going be an index of some sort at the end of the course & sure enough there wasn't! So make the 'Bookmarks as you go along'. The information given was better than good with quite a few Design Hints & Tips (another reason for continual bookmarking!) The end of the course dealt with making books via Lightroom and Apple Photo. All-in-all, a very good well taught course

Excellent, and good value, especially as photobooks are an investment in cost and time. I enjoyed the presentation: conversational and instructive. The beginning lectures provide a foundation plus reminders. I particularly valued section 3 and its pointers on making my photos themselves impressive. I will be going back to it and to sections 4, 5 & 6 as I progress in making my next book, which covers our travels in Myanmar.

The course was thoughtfully presented, interesting and with a good balance of detail. I did a few sections at a time. I have made photo books in the past, so, while some material was familiar, the course provided important reminders about layout, photo editing and finalising the book. There was valuable new material, especially in regard to the use of PNG files to import text from photo shop and create special effects. I have made bookmarks and, when making my next book, will return to lectures to reinforce my learning.

This is a good buy! I am only half way through the 50-odd unit course and already have learned lots - and seen what I have been doing wrong in the past. In not a beginner but still there are tips and tricks in most lessons. And a quiz at the end from time to time. Impressive. This instructor gives easy to understand lessons and I have learned stuff about Photoshop and Photo Elements I didn't know. Now I think I'll see if he does other courses as his style is good and the content very comprehensive. Apparently not all the courses are so brill: I'm doing a second one on another arty subject with a different instructor and feel a bit cheated on value for money. So read the reviews. This course merits a five star and a recommendation.
