Why take this course?

If you deal with Automation and Process Control equipment, chances are that you are very familiar with terms like RS232, RS485, 4-20mA, DI, DO, AI and on and on. However, standards in Information Technology have been making their way into the fields of Automation and Process control. Modbus falls into that category as well.

Modbus has traditionally been used on RS485 networks. However, Modbus TCP/IP has gained in popularity and is being implemented more and more. Here is where the challenge exists. As a tech or engineer in the automation field, in order to implement, maintain and troubleshoot Modbus TCP/IP networks, you will need to know about certain technologies in the field of IT work. The latter can be a BIG challenge since the field of IT is so expansive and you don't have the time to learn all of it.

That is what this course is for.

In this course, I am going to take your existing knowledge of Modbus RTU, combine it with what you need to know from the world of IT and give you all that you need to build, maintain and troubleshoot Modbus TCP/IP networks. And I am going to do that in the shortest possible time and in the most practical way that I know

Not bad, though I would like more programming stuff, nobody, I assume, is going to use Modbus on Windows PC using Modscan32 and/or Modsim32, would be great to have shown us how to implement simple Modbus protocol in C or C++, maybe even Python. I am configuring TCP/IP and network devices in daily basis, so those parts where boring for me. But, with the info provided, we can start programming our own Modbus devices for sure. Thank you and take care!

This is another brilliant course from Mr. Ackbarali. It got me from a total noob to someone who can now connect to TCP-IP devices on my bench using my laptop and some cheap devices I bought to practice along with this course. It's simple, punch and full of useful information, so time and money very well spent for quite invaluable teaching. Perfect for beginner and intermediate level engineers.

Course content is good, delivery is good. Very clear explanations. One thing I felt was that each of leesons are too short and then it loads the next lesson. The frequency of loading is too high. Instead, each lesson can be made for a period of 10 or 15 minutes and cover one full topic

Great lecture. It is covering all topics for ModBus TCP. Specifically, the advantages of ModBus TCP over the traditional serial/RTU, or in other words the legacy Modbus.

Emile is a great teacher and definitely knows Modbus. Modbus isn’t a technology that I’ve needed to know in my career until now and I was able to pick it up very quickly and easily with this and the RS485 course. I recommend this course to anyone who needs or wants to understand Modbus.
