Recent Review:

Thomas W. says: "Exactly what I was looking for in a course.  As a business student studying management I felt like there was far more to learn about the real world of business and management than what we learn in text books.  I've learned a lot in courses from Chris before and this course is no different.  He really knows his stuff and can tell he has a great amount of experience."

Why You Should Take This Course With Me:

The skill of being a manager involves many skill sets, and often times people are unprepared for the role.  The natural progression in the business world is to eventually manage your own staff, yet we are left unprepared for all that it entails.  Having to motivate staff, deal with differences between employees, handling multiple personalities, goal setting, team building, and the list goes on.  For the unprepared manager it can be quite a bit to deal with.

Do not worry though, you have come to the right place! In this course you will learn everything you need to know about being an effective manager!

What We Learn In The Course:

  • How to select great employees

  • Motivating employees

  • Dealing with employee problems

  • Supervisor skills

  • Documentation

  • Upgrading job skills

  • Creating job specifications

  • Equal Employment Opportunity

  • Hiring, Firing and Lay Offs - how to handle each

  • And Much More!!! Those are just the highlights

At any point if you have a question, please feel free to ask through the course forum, I'd be happy to answer any and all questions.

My boss asked me to take this class. I am a relatively new manager. I am also hiring two people. I am gleaning information. I find it informative and helpful.

As someone with no management experience, this served as a great overview of some of the more effective management techniques and best practices! Thank you!

The content was basic and non-engaging. I was looking for a course that would engage our team and help them as they become leaders of people. This course did not meet our expectations.

It is good for me as my management skills are dated and come more from a stronghold back back ground. It is good to tone down and work with your staff to achieve goals in a friendly and supportive manner.

The instructor explains concepts clearly and the topics are what i was expecting. I could have gone for 5 stars if video 52 "Making your team self-motivating" had been fixed, i understand it has been an issue for sometime.

I like that this course touches on basics. I have only watch one section and have learned some steps to make my life easier in Excel and I have used Excel for years! I have completed 50% of this course and find the lectures very informational. I am enjoying the speaker. I would take more course by this speaker.

It’s very clear & thoroughly explained. The instructor speaks in clear & smooth explanation of how manager in business does act. The course is conveying the right way to practice.

I've been a manager for 7 years and whilst my former employer gave me the tools to learn, the training was never aligned to my priorities. I am hopeful this training will encourage me to continue improving the application of my management skills in my new place of employment.

I have an MBA from 25+ years ago and have had some (a little) management training. But I have been a manager off and on for 15+ years. I am trying to fill in the gaps and become more effective. This course has already started doing just that.
