Description

This course takes a non-traditional approach to covering electronic music techniques and associated visuals. Each module is a standalone topic based on a particular concept and case study, and so modules can be taken in any order. The course has also been recently updated to include coverage of AI tools and techniques, with a focus on performance visuals and music videos.

I do cover some of the usual general topic areas, such as Mixing and Mastering, Composition Techniques, and some Music Theory in the DAW, but I go a bit beyond these usual subjects.

I also cover some areas not usually included in electronic music courses, such as an introduction to programming in the Max environment, and also some coverage of visuals and video effects, since many electronic music producers also make music videos and VJ loops. There are also modules on general aesthetic concepts and some interviews with plug-in makers to provide extra context to electronic music making.

The course does assume some basic familiarity with digital audio and electronic music, but you don't need advanced skills to understand the content. I use FL Studio as the main DAW to illustrate topics, but the ideas map to any DAW and it's not really an FL Studio course. Also, I add content fairly regularly so it's a constantly updated course.

Overall it's a pretty chill course and hey, it's free!
