Muy Buena, Uno de los mejores cursos de Unreal que estoy haciendo en Unreal. Se nota que el instructor tiene experiencia.

I am a new developer looking for inspiration to make new games. I love turn-based games and this is about the only reference material out there for new developers to learn how to make this style of game. This style is also unique and lends itself perfectly to be whatever you want it to be.

Great course for anyone who has a basic understanding of Unreal Blueprints and/or C++. It has a really nice discussion of the Unreal Framework followed by an excellent introduction to programming design patterns. The course teaches a great way to approach a new game project by prototyping in Blueprints with later conversion to C++. For me, the best part is the way the instructor shares his way of thinking when approaching design and implementation. It really helped me tie all the information I've learned about Unreal together. If you've taken a beginner course or two on Unreal Blueprints and/or C++, I highly recommend this course to further advance your skills.

This course is absolutely terrible. I can only assume the positive reviews are from friends or colleagues at this point which I'm sure is against Udemy terms of service. I have some experience as a C++ developer but was interested in the course as a way to learn more about Unreal and specifically the type of puzzle game being shown. If you're going to buy this regardless, please be aware that almost nothing is explained. Code is provided but it doesn't feel like the instructor understands it enough himself to explain what is happening. As an example, 6 videos into the course you're told, and this is copied directly from the transcript: "Now, if I go to the viewport I made this for purposely, I made this so this I make this a box. So if I go and hit play. Already. You're already familiar with the third-person controller. So if I go to the camera boom, which is a spring arm, which is a spring arm, if you go to down there," Remember this is 6 videos in. So no, I'm not familiar with the third-person controller, I paid for this course hoping to be taught things like that. Another example was the instructor began describing a line of code and how code works, but then just gave up and said, "It's the same as you'd do in Unity C#..." So I'd only have the context to understand this part of the course if I'm also familiar with and understand Unity and C#. The easiest way I can describe the structure of the course is to imagine a moth in a jar and every time it hits the side, a random sentence is spat out. Nothing is scripted. A point is often started, not explained, never finished and then a new point will be started immediately after. For any video you see that is for example 15 minutes in length you can assume it holds about only 5 minutes worth of information if it was structured in any way whatsoever.

I've been in game development for many years, and have dealt with many proprietary and opensource game engines before I moved to Unreal Engine once it's become accessible, and still like and interested to read and review other courses and projects no matter how skillful I become it's always good to find some time to back to the basics or learn from others ideas as it will always show a useful tip or technique. And this course is undoubtedly recommended to anyone who wants to start his/her journey in games development in the latest version of Unreal Engine with a professional approach. The course is well-structured and will teach you all the best practices and techniques so you can step in with confidence and code your own games.

Great and well-structured course. I personally love the chapters about Unreal Engine Framework and the programming design patterns but I'm a blueprint developer so I just sticked with the blueprint videos and get a lot of information because it was so clear.... thanks for the course.
