AUTOSAR stands for Automotive open system architecture, It is a standard for software architecture for Automotive applications. It is a consortium formed by OEMs, suppliers, tool developers, and semiconductor vendors.

AUTOSAR is now the worldwide standard for Automotive application development, almost all the OEMs and Automotive ECUs developers are part of the AUTOSAR consortium.

This course is ideally suited for a beginner of AUTOSAR, who wants to learn the basics of AUTOSAR fundamentals and AUTOSAR architecture. In this course, you will learn about the Basic software modules such as MCAL (Microcontroller abstraction layer), ECU abstraction layer, Service layer, SWCs, RTE, VFB, AUTOSAR concepts such as Multicore, E2E, Partial networking concept, J1939, Autosar methodology, tools and technologies involved in the development of AUTOSAR compliant ECUs. Motivation for the development of AUTOSAR, Autosar partnership, objectives goals, benefits, major players in Autosar. Autosar workflow, Communication flow, RTE, SWCs, MCAL, ECU abstraction layer, application layer, service layer.

The course also discusses Inter ECU communication and Intra ECU communication. There are basically two types of AUTOSAR frame works classic AUTOSAR and Adaptive AUTOSAR. Differences between the two frameworks are also discussed in the course. We also discuss AUTOSAR ECU executables. Tools required to generate the ECU executable and AUTOSAR workflow about the generation with respect to OEMs part and suppliers part.

Knowing something and teaching the same is very different, poor way of explaining the concepts, instructor is in hurry - just reading the slides, skipping lot of terms, lot of contents in slide is skipped, VERY BAD Experience, if there is a way to give negative rating, will suggest that. Will not suggest anyone to go for this course. No Value addition and waste of money.

The course could have been better. One of the areas of improvement I would say is the quality and depth of examples that were presented. I was expecting a more detailed overview on BSW layer specific to RTOS implementation, scheduling etc. In the initial sessions lot of things were repeated and overlapping pertaining to AUTOSAR motivation, the stakeholders and beneficiaries. The OEM workflow for creation of system description file using SW-C, ECU Resource and System description file was not clear. After deciding the product goals and features by the OEM, there are considerable number of steps i guess. Translating these into requirements/Specifications and who translates these into logical architecture before proceeding to Software and Network architecture. Is it the OEM or tier 1? If there is a next installment of this course, I would love to knwo more about how ECU extracts are prepared and a hands on experience on at least one of the tools from Vector Tool Chain. Anyways Kudos to the team for taking the initiative.

Audio levels are not uniform in all the videos, and there are some chapters, which get's completed in between, and doesn't understand what is the use of that chapter. Documentation should be added. Adding subtitiles will create more impact.

First of all, thanks for developing this course. I'm an automotive sensor development engineer and I was able to connect the dots of autosar to what I'm developing right now like ABS sensor or Throttle position sensor, I also enjoyed the concept of adaptive cruise control. Thanks a lot, I wanted to learn more about autosar BSW development or CAN, please make one series on it too.
