What you will learn

You will learn to effectively manage email

You'll be able to use email as a centralized hub to manage your personal and work world

Achieve and maintain inbox zero

Description

Gmail is Google's free email service, and it's amazing. It can become your ultimate productivity tools, allowing you to get more done in less time by enabling you to focus and act upon the most important information every day.

I teach The Art of Less Doing, a framework for productivity I developed to help people optimize, automate, and outsource everything in their lives and be more effective. I'm constantly writing about new ways to save you time and get more done at my Less Doing blog.

Having a clean inbox is an essential basis for being more productive which is why I created this course. Achieving an empty inbox is not that hard when you have the right methods and tools. This course begins with my philosophy and methodology for dealing with email. It takes you through the steps of getting started with Gmail and setting it up the way I reccomend.

The second part of the course gives details on each of the amazing add ons or related services that I beleive are essential to maximize productivity. I chose to utilize videos produced by the creators of these products because they explain them better than I ever could.

IFTTT is a free service that allows you to create automations between popular web services so you can "set it and forget it" and get back to the work you need to do.

Virtual Assistants bring the whole process full circle by allowing you to outsource all of the tasks you don't want to do and haven't been able to automate.

The value I hope you get from this course is my step-by-step, cohesive assembly of tools created by the tech community framed with my original content and methods for getting the most out of email. In addition  you'll be able to ask questions on the course forum which will be answered by me and/or other students. I will also offer regular live sessions where you can ask me questions and make comments in real time.

the solely written format is hard for me to fully grasp the concepts. I read well but tend to be more visual in my learning. I expect more from a Udemy course then something I could pull a free article up and just read it myself.

The Followup, Misc, nor priority tabs were present in my gmail account, i had to create them, also the Labs options were no longer available... This being said, the introduction to these ideas have inspired me tremendously and I will be implementing many of them.

Info was good. Thought there would be a little more step by step how to vs promoting services, but I still found it useful. I have already tweaked my gmail settings and will go back to look at what IFTTT recipes I can use and FancyHands tasks.

Interesting course. I feel like I have enough to get started. Not sure if I have enough to get fully up and functioning.

The Gmail piece or the IFTTT piece are each worth the price. Together they make an invaluable bit of information, and can be used to create your own system. I am pretty technical, and some of this info will still take some absorbing. I will probably go through the course again, to absorb more (don't let that scare you, this is stuff that save you hours daily). This exceeded my expectations, and is only the beginning (you can explore recipes and other tools, and get more ideas the more you explore). But I think seeing how Ari uses the tools was so worth it. It provides guidance and idea generation. I would recommend taking this, and if it doesn't get your mind going crazy with possibilities, just ask for your money back. :)

There are only five videos through the whole course so in reality you're paying for Google information. Yes, he adds his own spin to the information, but I was still able to Google in five minutes. At least I only paid $15 for the course, feel bad for those who paid full price.

There were many tips, some i implemented and were very helpful. Ari goes direct to the point, is very objective and i liked it, but don't expect him to use many time to persuade you to use something.

I had signed up for FancyHands and felt that I wasn't utilizing it fully. After seeing how Ari uses FancyHands, I have some more ideas on how I can use it. Particularly I will now use FancyHands more for dictations, scheduling appointments and to purchase items online.

I decided to take this course without any intention of moving all my email to GMail. I use Apple's Mail.app, but I wanted ideas for different plug-ins and services that are available out there so I could adapt the advice to the Mac platform. When I saw a GMail plug-in I thought I would use, I looked for similar functionality for Mail.app. The course is great, I'd suggest taking it slow and adding plug-ins over time so that you actually use them. I used some of the suggested mail rules (the Optional folder is awesome), checked out the online services recommended (already been using IFTTT but implemented a few new recipes), and hired FancyHands to help me out (was considering another service, but like the lower price point for now). Highly recommended even if you want to adapt it to other applications. GMail is very powerful, but if you're not comfortable with leaving your email out on the cloud, there are options.

Short and sweet. Simple step by step instructions. Implement everything or a la carte in real time. I feel reborn...less clunky... like trying on crisp new clothes and just wearing them leaving my old duds in the bag.

Whether you use Gmail as your to-do list or just a way to keep all of your communication in one place, Ari's course will let you do more in less time. I highly recommend it.

I've always considered myself to be incredibly efficient, but after taking this course, all I can say is HOLY COW! Ari has opened my eyes to a wonderful world of productivity I didn't know existed, and if I implement only 10% of what I learned I'll save hours every week. Thanks Ari!!

Instead of gems, this course could pretty much be wrapped into a single blog post. Whilst Ari's other course is helpful, this one felt like an endless infomercial.
