Very Informative and clear instruction. However, I did have problems following along during the course because this course is not updated to the new Linux Mint 21.1 I gave it 3 1/2 stars for this reason and I'm pretty familiar with Linux Mint just not an expert.

I learned a lot from this course! It's an excellent place to start for anyone who wants to learn the basics of Linux Mint. Mint 20.3 doesn't include the Administrator section in the Start menu , but it's easy enough to find your way around if you use the search.

Installing on an old machine than virtualisation is better. The course is though outdated as I installed 20.2!

Being new to Linux this was a good way to familiarize myself with it. The info was basic but easy to follow. The only issue i ran into was that the version in the course was 17.1; I have 20.2, so some of the things shown didn't match and was a little confusing when I tried to follow along

This class is started off for on a very basic level of how to install Linux Mint and adjust the volume. Then it moved to more intermediate level of chmod and chown and and grep commands. I like the flow of this class even though it started off really simple

I have been using Linux Mint for some time but used it like a Windows system and didn't explore the finer details. The first lessons covered several things I was not aware of, like corner bubbles. I especially liked "Working With The Nemo File Management Utility" Lesson 12 because it explained the content of the system directories, something I had wondered about.

This was an excellent refresher class for someone who used UNIX a very long time ago. It covers every area that needs to be covered to install and familiarize yourself with the current Mint system installed on a virtual machine with multiple systems running different desktops.

Good starting point for beginners. I'm sure I will go back and review some sections at a later point. One thing I will point out is that this series of lectures is a year or two old and that there are quite a few changes in the latest release. Excellent class otherwise.

Video fails to tell how to make a thumb drive bootable media for Mint install. Video fails to show how to set up with making your own partitions if you do not want to wipe the drive it is installing on. Video fails to talk about setting boot priority on system BIOS to make sure that the optical drive is the first boot device or the thumb drive is the first boot device.

When selecting the "Installation Type" on the installation lesson it would have been great if the instructor gave us more specific details on the benefits, of the encryption and LVM options. Loved the Permissions lectures, great work, super informative. Linux Mint has different GUI iterations the main one being Cinnamon, however in my case as it is with thousands other users, I use Mate, it would have been great to see the instructor providing more information on this topic. Loved the course, absolutely recommended for anyone.

This is a great course. It can be better if the working files and lab handouts are provided. The lack of documentation is present on most Udemy courses.

The course gives a good overview of the linux mint system. It's not to long or to short. A lot of topics are discussed.
