This was probably the most intuitive course I have ever taken, with Udemy or anyone else. Mr Welch did an excellent job explaining MVC, then went through a basic MVC 5 database project from start-to-finish. I believe that I knew most of the associated information before taking the course. However, the course did an excellent job of putting what I did know and what I didn't know into context. Just an excellent course!

The database file is not provided. At times the Narrator has not shown writing the code but saying, - 'I have created...'

Horrible course for a variety of reasons. If you're a fan of not actually writing any code and simply importing code files and listening to this guy ramble on then this course is for you. Hope I can still get a refund.

Very nice explanation and coverage of topics. The shopping cart sample application gives a real feel of learning a practical approach rather than theory. Amazed with the quality and pace of the contents. Can't thank you enough for this valuable course.

This course has a lot of information. I'm being exposed to quite a bit. The reason I left only 2.5 is that it's more of a show and tell than a "workshop" or "lab". I would much rather be able to work through the material along with the author step by step. The beginning part of the course was great, chapter 4 is getting to the point where I can only follow along. I'm guessing at which dataset to open and finding that all of the controllers and views are already in there and written. I would much rather practice going through the mechanics of adding these things and typing them out. Need more opportunity to practice rather than just watching a movie. If you are new to MVC/Entity Framework, definitely worth it, just be prepared to have to do your own practice. Also, SQL Express doesn't come with Northwind anymore, you have to do some flips and twists to get it added to your sql instance to use. I did manage to find a rhythm and was hand-typing from the initial project in the chapter to add new features. Most of the time we could see the important parts so you can try this strategy with viewing the course.

Great series. Really good Video shop example... it is simple and effective. The eCommerce section is very good. One of the best MVC courses on UDEMY

Learning with a mini/real-time project is great, the approach covers the challenges one might face while developing an end to end project.

Overall, the course is a good place to start if you have no knowledge of mvc. My only concern with the course is that the instructor would jump around and was not in one project the entire time.

The main problem is that the lecturer doesn't reply to discussions, which leaves you out in the cold if you have issues. The ecommerce application would have benefited tremendously if it included an admin control panel that allowed you to manipulate the databases through the website.

the course focuses on MVC4 and does not leverage the newest technologies. However, I like how slowly author builds up your knowledge. I do wish, he would spent more time on buliding more complex data model. But he gives resources links where you can teach yourself to do so (asp.net/mvc). Overall, very good course that finally made me to understand LINQ in general.

This course is one of the best one out there to learn about ASP. Net MVC. The Instructor takes time to explain his code in detail and then connects it to the lectures in a manner which puts everything in perspective. He explains what I thought would be a complicated code in its simplicity. I wish I could ask more lectures on LINQ and Entity Framework added. What a wonderful course !. Almost a Real World Website. My wish list would be an email lecture to send out email when orders are placed by a customer and of-course more on LINQ and lambda expressions.
