What you will learn

What makes a good business case?

How to write a compelling business case?

Defining a business problem, structuring a solution and quantifying it's impact

Building cost-benefit analysis

Identifying decision makers and winning them over

Why take this course?

Are your ideas killer but they never get the attention or approvals they deserve? Are you struggling to articulate, break-down and plan on your business idea better?

Then you probably just need to polish up your business case writing skills. Ideating is great but if you want your ideas and you to win, then you need to convince others that your ideas are worth exploring and building out.

As they say, an average idea with strong conviction and great execution is 100x better than a great idea with lousy conviction and bad execution.

Ideas contribute to only 5% of the journey, rest 95% is execution and the first step to execution is a good business case.

In this course, we will learn how to take an idea and break it down to bite-size components? And how to fill in each component such as:

  1. Business Objectives

  2. Problem and Solution

  3. Target audience

  4. Resources and Financials

  5. Strategic Fit

  6. Risks and Mitigants

  7. Recommendation

  8. Finally, Executive Summary

What all will you learn

  • What makes a good business case?

  • How do Product Managers and successful business strategy folks identify their customers and build their personas? We will learn the famous example of a Fidelity group company CEO and his customer (HENRY)

The practice test at the beginning was a bit strange...I wasn't sure if it was telling me I failed with getting 1 of 6 questions correct? The content otherwise is great! I really like the differentiation so far and how it focuses objectively on what you need. For someone who hasn't had to write one before I'm curious to hear what comes next in the course! I liked the concept of preparing to understand your audience, building allies, making your idea their idea, and tactics for combating the different kinds of detractors.

This course was very comprehensive and had a lot of great information that I will for sure be able to use in my work. However, the sounds in this course was somewhat distracting. In parts it was very "echo-y" and hard to even hear the instructor. In other parts it was OK, and was clear that it had been recorded separately and added later. For the most part, the echo in the room made it hard to listen to.

I absolutely recommend this course to anyone interested in the topic. PROS: - trainer knows what hes talking about and is presenting the topic end-to-end (from ideation, to people relations, a bit of psychology of decision makers and excel revenue models) - he is very approachable and easy to understand - he has a charisma and is a pleasure to listen - when I pointed out in Q and A as stated in my 'cons' section that links do not work, trainer contacted me almost immediately CONS: - the business case we build during training is for New Product Development project type. Would be good to see also Cost Saving and Time Saving project's business cases, even in short

Excellent insight in a relatively shorter duration. I took an half star away because the test in section 1 was not very elaborative and I got confused - if the questions are directed towards me or they are related to the coursework. Also, if author can provide hints (for example - pick 3) in multiple choice questions, it can enable students to think little more and take a calculated pick.

HENRY (High Earning Not Rich Yet). This example killed it. Very well done course. Though the only con I think is it doesn't go in depth of building a detailed business plan. Nimit, hope you put out another course soon to build a detailed B-Plan. Screen reader support enabled.

I really liked this course. Though I have been working as a business consultant in a Big4, this really helped me brush up my basic fundamentals and also add a different startup perspective that I think comes from the instructor's background. The course is definitely recommended for anyone starting off in the consulting field, especially the cost benefit analysis section.

Yes, the course is actually better than my expectations. The instructor is a bit fast but once you get the tempo, there are a lot of solid knowledge and concepts taught. The instructor teaches from experience, and the examples are also very relevant. I can see a lot of application in my current line of work and am keen to learn more. Thanks for this!

I always felt that my management didn't really value good ideas till I did this course. This course actually made me realise what grave mistakes I was making in presenting the business ideas, especially the customer persona section. If you feel your ideas are not being heard, I recommend you do this and change your perspective and presentation.

Simple, articulate and practical. I have always struggled with excel models but Nimit makes it seem quite easy. I loved the way he built out the elevator pitch. Definite recommend.

Super course for anyone who wants to write a Business Plan. As Nimit says, Business Case is first step to write a Business Plan. I took a punt by taking his course (he doesn't seem to have much experience on Udemy) but had watched his Youtube videos and he is known to be a solid instructor in my college circles. Guess he is just coming online. Lots of strong real world experience.

I really liked this course. Though I have working as a business consultant in a management consulting firm, this really helped me brush up fundamentals. The way Nimit breaks down complex deas in step by step concepts is quite amazing. I recommend this course for anyone who wants to start a career in management/ business consulting.

Highly recommend this course. I am actually having quite fun in building out my own business case alongwith Nimit. His 9 blocks to business case and templates make it quite simple actually. Kinda a nice cheatsheet for people like me who are looking for a smarter way to learn business case writing :)

This course is recommended for anyone who wants to better present business ideas. His examples are bang on and make concepts simple to understand. For an engineer like me who has spent most of career in programming, the course helped me put a good business case together for the idea I have been working on. My investors really liked it and I hoping to build this out and raise some capital quickly.
