The teacher is very knowledgable and the most important thing is that he goes at a very slow pace. He teaches how to produce the right sound and very informative of producing the incorrect sound. I have started learning Tabla from Srinivas Sir, he is very passionate to teach and he has vast experience in Tabla. He make sure that you learn difficult Taal's very easily.(I will keep posted as I progress on the course)

The fundamentals are excellent, and very helpful. I would like to see examples of what we are aspiring to ... the final application of what we are learning. But I like the explanations of why things are done a certain way ... for example the rotation of the wrist over the ring finger in order to get more power in the Ta snap. That makes great sense. I would like to see more information on achieving the best tone, perhaps contrasted with an example of poor tone. I had to go to wikipedia and other sites to look up terminology such as vibhag, paran/padan, maatra, and taali/kali. I think some extra explanation of these in western terms would be helpful (for example, bol comes from the sanskrit word meaning "to speak" and is probably most equivalent to the English word "syllable", at least in this context). Some subtitles of the Sanskrit terms in English transliteration would be helpful, too. Sometimes I must guess at what the new, unfamiliar word is that is being spoken. I really appreciated learning some seemingly "little" details, such as the fact that the Dayan is a pitched instrument, meaning that it can really only practically sing a few pitches. I never knew that, and it will help me in understanding how to properly tune the tabla. Overall this course has been very helpful to me, and I hope to have time later this week to brush up on many of the lessons. Thank you for the instruction.

Accent is a little hard to follow. Slow moving, but has some good information. The actual drum demonstrations are fun.

i found this course very useful, it was easy to understand the basic concept. now i am able to play teen taal. thank you very much for giving this course and for free.
