In this exciting new course, we show you how to host multiple domain names on a single Digital Ocean droplet. We will show you step-by-step how to configure a droplet with LAMP Stack on Ubuntu 18.04. This includes deploying a droplet, installing Ubuntu and all the components included in LAMP Stack including Apache, MySQL, PHP and PhpMyAdmin.
We also explore an exciting new feature offered by Digital Ocean, called "Floating IP's" which allow you to transfer IP's easily between multiple droplets.
After you understand the foundations of server configuration, we get into configuring Name Servers, DNS Zone Files and Virtual Hosts to host multiple domains from a single Virtual Server. You will have a thorough understanding of setting file permissions and developing an organized directory structure for all your websites.
We also show you how to configure an SSL certificate for each and every website that you host on your virtual server. For this part of the course we will be using Let’s Encrypt. Let’s Encrypt is a certificate authority that offers free SSL certificates, which are extremely simple to install and very secure.
You are welcome to use any hosting provider for this course, as the concepts can be easily implemented on any Virtual Server configured with the Ubuntu distribution.

The course is good, rather than apache, i'd like to do this using nginx but the content of the course is well explained. as a note, I really dislike when people copy&paste commands on the terminal instead of manually type them... Just my thoughts
A very helpful course in terms of learning multiple domains on one virtual server. Thank you soo much!
Excellent introduction course to setup a development web Lab server. Thankyou keep up the great work you are doing. I WOULD LIKE YOU TO DO THE SAME WITH A NGINX web server. Please please !!
Information is clear and well explained. Had to watch it at 1.5x as, for me, the instructor was going pretty slow.
This is a very interesting topic. However, I'll like to point out that it will be less confusing for a complete beginner if the commands are typed not the copy and paste used by the instructor. Also, It'll be nice if you can explain those commands to help your students understand them better. Thanks
simple and straight to the point. Would have been great to also cover or give pointers on the use of non-root account to setup future websites and the tips to secure access to the web server Apart from that, course was a great one
It was very effective course and therefore I would definitely be interested in attending others. The instructor was very knowlegeable and provided a wealth of information. I would defintely recommend this to my co-workers as well as friends.
Content was excellent and exactly what I needed. I was able to follow these steps and produce the necessary results.
- There is no easy way to copy commands (had to actually go to the digitalocean page and following and copying the instructions from there) - didn't work eventually (there is no guideline/troubleshooting whatsoever) - so better go and look at a free youtube video than spending money on this
There are no notes, no text to copy. We have to manually enter the commands. Also, is the pronunciation of Apache correct?? Some of DigitalOcean's interface has changed since this tutorial was created.
Followed step by step and it worked great, got an excellent basic understanding now and will look at the masterclass as a follow on.
In 2 words only, "sheer excellent!". I learned a lot on what IMHO can be a fairly tricky topic but essential for anyone seeking work as a full-stack developer. Really easy to understand. Clear and concise. The examples were IMHO very practical, and explained in detail step by step. Tip: Watch the video if you can on a 2 screen computer setup, with your Digital Ocean and/ or terminal/ Putty screen on one screen, and the video (enlarged) on the other. Be prepared to frequently pause the video while you work through the examples. It WILL take you longer than just 1 hour but I think it's seriously worth it. Be aware that this course is apparently part of a larger master-class BUT it is self contained for this particular topic.
I was very disappointed, i thought that would get more detail explanation. I used the Digital Ocean LAMP and Let's Encrypt tutorial at the same times, and they were a lot more detail. The course would be good for someone new /a beginner new to Digital Ocean.
Very brief course, it actually repeats the Digital Ocean tutorials. It should include some more info, like troubleshooting for common problems, automatically renew Let's Encrypt, etc.
"Setup and Host Multiple Sites on one Server using Digital Ocean. Setup Virtual Hosts and Secure all Domains with SSL." - A technical course about virtual hosting and multiple sites.
