What people are saying:

“Really good explanations, pleasant to follow, great course for beginners!” - Arnaud D'Arcizas

“I have a little bit of experience with Access, having already built a six table MS Access DB for work before starting this course. However, there is nothing like seeing it put into practice by a master of the tool, which this instructor clearly seems to be. I'm halfway through the course but picking up a lot of additional info and beginning to refine my DB based on just the info the instructor has covered so far. I can't wait to start the advanced course. Great job by the instructor!”
Jim Pursley

“Starts very slow, but quickens eventually. After finishing the course you'll have a broad view of how to operate Microsoft Access. The course is good! Even introduces notions of SQL, so the course will start with you "knowing nothing” to "intermediate level". Everything is well explained (sometimes too much) and is well structured.” -Valeria Echeverria

I took this class as a requirement for a new job. I have never touched access before and I was able to pick it up very quickly with this video. The course flowed very nicely and started with the very basic information first before moving on to more complicated tasks. The instructor was very easy to understand and everything was presented at great pace. Since learning how to use access with this class, I have been to create my own database to practice my skills and learn new ones. I would recommend this class to anyone who would like to get a great understanding of access.

C'est bon le cours, mais manque que l'instructeur travail plus en donnant clicks à titre d'exemples, pas seulement parler

At this time, I'm ahead of this tutorial. I can not find a suitable member of my "family" to look at this and revue. From my point of view, only a few minor negatives. But as I said, this is basic for me. Having said that, I have still picked up a few tips !. So let's carry on.....

I have never used Access before, but we are progressing way to slow. Too many things are Windows and general Microsoft Office stuff and most of us know it. E.g. no need to spend several minutes explaining the possibility to show screentips or not. Could be done in 5 seconds or alternatively be in general Microsoft Office course. Easy to understand, but too much time wasted.

The teacher moves quickly enough to hold my interest but is thorough enough to convey the point properly.

I think it has a lot of good material, but it can be boring at times. Maybe changing up the format every once in a while might keep me more interested as I found myself getting distracted very often. Some suggestions of things that have worked for me in other courses: Record the narrator's face while explaining some concepts (that way it feels more personal, like the person is actually talking to you), pause once in a while to show a screen with the summary of the concepts or steps (seeing the concepts or steps in a different format helps with the retention of the information), etc. I discovered the notes features way too late in the course (it puts like a bookmark at the time where you save the note, so it's a really nice feature to mark when the narrator does a specific task in case you don't remember something and need to go back). I like that the narrator explains why he does things in a particular way, it helps with the understanding of the concepts. The first lessons were a little bit too basic for me (I've worked with Office products for many years), but I see how it can be helpful for people with no experience.

Access is a complicated program and the instructor breaks it down into understandable chunks of information. While I did skip through some things that were very basic for me, I understand why it was included in the course. By being thorough this course can be for the very novice Microsoft user or for more advanced users who can just forward through to new information.

The course covers just enough material and detail to make it an excellent choice for a database novice new to Access.

I found the video's far too pedantic for me. If you have a general idea of using a computer and Window's then you may as well... Often spends 5 minutes or so talking about something such as the tab key, how it can scroll through table entry's, how it highlight's text as it goes, how if you start typing when text is highlighted *pulls trigger* To me these thing's aren't Access specific, or could be summed up in seconds rather then minutes. As such I found the course hard to focus on

This course is integral to anyone that is interested in working in an office. Access is an administrator's best friend in the workplace if you know how to utilize all of it's tools. Step by step tutorials make it easy to learn all the components to successfully learning Access. I love the instructor with his soothing, easy to understand voice. He is clear and concise and leaves no information out. I easily retain the lessons because of the organized nature in which they are taught. I love that I can reference tutorials as I need the information. Highly recommend this course for anyone working in an office.
