"Learn Ionic 3 From Scratch by Paul Halliday is a course that guides you from a beginner to expert in Ionic 3. If you have seen any of Paul Halliday's work before, you know that he is committed to providing up-to-date, thorough video content with a clear cut approach."

You may have seen other courses on the market that are available to purchase already, yet haven't been updated to Ionic 3 or taking advantage of the latest Angular concepts or features. Paul releases daily videos on his YouTube channel and his commitment to the course content is the same. By purchasing this course, you're investing in your mobile development future as you can be confident that it will be updated as time goes on.

This course is community oriented and the discussion tab can be used to showcase your progress, suggest content ideas, ask for help, and much more.

Applications Built

Within the "Learn Ionic 3 From Scratch" course, you will be making the Github Profile Searcher from scratch. Prior to interacting with any API, we create our mock data and TypeScript interfaces for a strongly typed approach to development.

We then look at making 'Beep', the social chat application from UX design all the way to full implementation*. As you follow the course, we design the application in Adobe Experience Design and then look at implementing the various features to a production standard within our project.

We use Firebase for our real-time database and authentication, as well as the latest release candidate which includes the modularisation of AngularFire2 into different packages.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to make cross platform mobile applications using Angular 4, TypeScript and Ionic 3. This means that you'll be able to:

  • Create high performance mobile applications using web technologies (HTML5 and JavaScript).
  • Have a strong portfolio of applications* and understanding of Ionic 3, TypeScript and  Angular 4.
  • Master the Ionic 3 CLI with a section dedicated to it's usage.
  • Use Ionic Native and Cordova to hook into native device features*.
  • Theme your Ionic applications with bespoke styles, and understand common accessibility patterns.
  • Master Ionic 3 navigation patterns with lifecycle hooks.
  • Increase performance of your Ionic 3 applications with lazy loading.

And much more.

* Feature is under development as the course continues to grow.

Quite outdated and no longer being updated - however I needed to learn specifically Ionic 3 so this was quite useful. However, do wish Q&A's were still being answered - looks abandoned.

Paul does go very fast and covers a lot of ground in this lesson. Which is great when you want to pinpoint a specific topic in Ionic3 There are some issues with this course: 1) Not updated I get it, its hard to keep up with the breaking changes across 3rd party libraries, angular, and Ionic. At least one of those things appears to change inside its major version like every 2-3 months. That is frustrating to instructors and students alike. It takes an active instructor to be on top of those changes to keep their "ionic 3" working correctly no matter when you start the project. I'm sure it worked great when putting the course examples together. But three months later and the course says to use an ionic start template, and those template libraries change, the instructor must adopt those breaking changes and fix the course via some errata, resource, or Q/A. There are other instructors that actively stay on top of this issue and regularly update their entire course as the technology matures inside its major version. It's frustrating when you get a course that doesn't have that level of instructor support. 2) Active Instructor Ok, In the Q&A and comments, there are TONS of students asking not course related questions for example: "I have a probIem unrelated to your course examples, but help fix my code for free" NOT! I get that, and the instructor should ignore those or generically respond to people to keep their questions about the course examples. But it appears the instructor doesn't answer any Q/A, even the course related ones. That is frustrating. There are other very good instructors that actively participate in the QA. 3) Resources Yes, there are resources but they are incomplete. Where there are missing resources, students do ask for them in the Q/A, but again, the instructor isn't participating in the Q/A. So in conclusion, Students unite and help each other, and be mindful what to expect of future purchases from this instructor, Great Content and little instructor involvement.

Paul is switching too fast between windows and between tabs in VSCode . I dont even have time to see what code is added. and I always have to stop and play the video witch is very annoying and counter productive

Not updated for AngularFire2 5.0.0 yet (as of May 13 2018) - need to rely on fellow students for updated code

Left us hanging with outdated content, said he was going to update but 9 months later still not a thing. He took our money and ran. Stay away from this outdated unsupported course.

If I could get a refund I would you spend way too much time rewinding the video, which is obvious that he is not coding that fast because the screen is switching too fast. Horrible video editing process and he should double the time on the course because you will spend that much time rewinding. Definitely wouldn't purpose another course from this guy, I wouldn't take that chance again.

The course contains a set of useful examples of applications which helps in understanding the topic, also I found quite a lot of rxjs code samples - will definitely use that in my work. This course worth watching, with or without prior experience of Ionic or Angular it makes easy to start building apps for both iOS and Android platforms.

the tutorial is overall good but there are sometimes mistakes that are edited away without being mentioned and when I follow along typing I write those out and they flip when I look away so I sometimes get confused. Either edit them out completely or just show the mistake being fixed so I don't feel crazy when it works on your machine and not mine.

I love that he explains all the concepts very well. His english is on point and he doesn't make silly mistakes. Everything he says is Valuable and Usable. All of these lessons are saving me precious time and frustration. All the hardwork has already been done, all you need to do is listen and apply.

Very good tutorial to develop hybrid apps using Ionic 3. Paul is a great instructor and developer. All the sections and videos are clear and to the point. Waiting for lectures on Push notification, Google maps integration and taking selfie using Camera.

Corso ben fatto e spiegato bene, però ogni tanto va troppo veloce dando a parer mio per scontato alcune cose

Good job, before this course I had not understood ionic and had been looking for resources but none was concerned to explain it from scratch. I recommend it completely.

Content is good with delivered in a clear organised manner. However, sometimes the video is burry which is distracting.
