Why take this course?

Prior to .NET 3.5, we (developers) often used to write ADO.NET code or Enterprise Data Access Block to save or retrieve application data from the underlying database. We used to open a connection to the database, create a DataSet to fetch or submit the data to the database, convert data from the DataSet to .NET objects or vice-versa to apply business rules. This was a cumbersome and error prone process. Microsoft has provided a framework called "Entity Framework" to automate all these database related activities for your application.

Our review

🖥️ **Course Review Synthesis** **Overall Rating:** 3.85/5 ### **Pros:** - **Content Structure:** The course provides a well-organized structure, making complex information more accessible and clear for learners. - **Subject Relevance:** It covers an important subject that is valuable for beginners and professionals looking to understand or improve their use of Entity Framework (EF). - **Innovative Approaches:** The course highlights different approaches to working with EF, offering unique insights that may not be found in other beginner courses. - **Course Value:** Even though some aspects of the course did not meet expectations for a beginner level, learners can still gain knowledge and useful information from it. - **Preview Utility:** The course serves as an excellent introduction to Entity Framework, acting like a "movie trailer" that informs viewers about what EF is without delving deeply into the topic. ### **Cons:** - **Technical Issues:** There are technical difficulties with the speaker's typing lagging during the presentation and issues with screen clarity. - **Audio Quality:** The voice recording quality, particularly with PC button voice, is subpar, affecting the listener's experience. - **Video Editing:** Some parts of the video seem to be recorded twice or thrice, indicating possible editing errors. - **Caption Accuracy:** The captions within the course contain inaccuracies due to the presenter's accent, which might hinder understanding for some viewers. - **Pacing and Content Delivery:** The speaker's pace is slow, which may not engage all learners optimally. Additionally, there is an overemphasis on typing on-video, which could be skipped to save time. ### **Additional Notes:** - **Technical Clarity:** It is recommended that the screen sharing feature is improved for better visibility during lessons. - **Language Accessibility:** The inclusion of English subtitles would enhance accessibility and understanding, especially for those who might have difficulty with the presenter's accent. In summary, while the course has its technical shortcomings, it still manages to convey important information about Entity Framework in a structured and somewhat unique way. With improvements in audio-visual quality, pacing, and accessibility features, this course could be greatly enhanced for a more engaging learning experience.
