Description

Do you struggle to draw people? Or anything else? Let me reveal you a little secret - it is not because you can’t draw, it’s because you think you can’t.

Drawing is not so much about talent but about practice. And for you to be willing to continue practice, you need to feel successful at what you are doing. That’s how the human brain functions.

Drawing trees can improve your drawing skills for several reasons:

  1. Observational Skills: Drawing trees forces you to closely observe and analyze the intricate details of their branches, leaves, and overall structure. This helps you develop your observational skills, which are fundamental for any artist. The more you practice observing and replicating what you see, the better your overall drawing skills will become.

  2. Understanding of Form and Proportion: Trees come in various shapes and sizes. Drawing them requires you to understand the proportions and forms of different tree species. This knowledge can be applied to other subjects as well, helping you draw other objects with better accuracy.

  3. Texture and Detailing: Trees often have unique textures in their bark, leaves, and branches. Drawing these textures challenges your ability to render details effectively, improving your ability to create intricate textures in other drawings.

  4. Composition: Incorporating trees into your artwork can enhance the composition of your drawings. Learning how to place trees in a landscape or within a scene can improve your overall composition skills, making your drawings more visually appealing.

  5. Value and Lighting: Trees can be a great subject for practicing shading and understanding how light and shadow interact with different surfaces. This knowledge can be applied to other subjects, helping you create more realistic and three-dimensional drawings.

  6. Patience and Precision: Drawing trees often requires patience and precision, especially when dealing with intricate branches and foliage. This can help you develop patience as an artist and improve your attention to detail.

  7. Exploring Different Mediums: Trees can be drawn using various mediums such as pencils, charcoal, ink, watercolor, and more. Exploring these different mediums while drawing trees allows you to gain experience and confidence with a variety of artistic tools.

  8. Connecting with Nature: Drawing trees can also help you connect with nature and the environment. Spending time observing and drawing trees outdoors can inspire you and provide a sense of tranquility and mindfulness, which can benefit your overall creativity.

  9. Creativity and Expression: While drawing trees realistically is valuable, it also provides an opportunity for artistic expression. You can experiment with different styles, colors, and techniques when drawing trees, allowing you to develop your creative voice as an artist.

  10. Practice Makes Perfect: Like any skill, drawing improves with practice. By drawing trees regularly, you build your drawing muscle memory and become more proficient at drawing other subjects as well.

In conclusion, drawing trees is a valuable exercise for artists because it helps you develop a wide range of fundamental skills and provides opportunities for creativity and self-expression. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, including trees in your drawing practice can contribute to your overall growth as an artist.

Very encouraging style but I expected also tutorials for conifers or pine trees not just deciduous trees, hence one point less
