Mir gefällt der Kurs sehr gut bis jetzt. Ich fände es aber spannender, wenn beim Erlernen der einzelnen Buchstaben bereits kleine aneinanderhängende Buchstabenpaare zum Üben dabei wären, sodass man langsam ans Buchstaben-Verbinden herangeführt wird.

It’s good. He tries to teach his best. He describes his letters very well. Some didn’t quite meet my expectations especially when the teacher was just following the practice sheets and multiple lines or curves were crooked. But overall, a good course to start learning copperplate calligraphy.

Fantastic! I was looking for some introduction to calligraphy and I found this complete course, with all the information a beginner need, a lot of practical lesson and a complete 40 pages handbook: you print the hand book and follow all the lessons working practically on your style. I really love this course and thank Richard for his support!

The instructor is a hobbyist, like myself. He is not a highly sought after master calligrapher. Why is that good? First, he makes mistakes, points them out, and then gives some tips on avoiding or correcting that kind of mistake. Second, this course costs about a tenth of what a course from a calligraphy star costs but I’m learning about the same amount since the fancier classes are so far over my head I won’t be able to capture all the nuance. And it’s embarrassing to feel like I’m wasting someone’s time when they’re so perfect and I’m so not perfect. I’m not slamming on the big pros (or on Richard). They’re awesome, but I just feel so intimidated. I’m more comfortable in Richard’s class because he makes it obvious mistakes are part of the process so let’s just matter of factly deal with them. If you feel intimidated but want a starting point, this is it.

The instructor explained the concepts behind copperplate clearly and simply and went through the whole alphabet stroke by stroke. The printable practice sheets provided are high quality and make it easy for me to follow along.
