The examples given in this course are both incredibly outdated and rather prejudicial. In the first few sections the lecturer uses examples of a pick-up artist website and a predatory for-profit university as examples of great sales sites. Later, he graduates to using bikini-clad women with sports cars as an example of "speaking to your audience," and likens selling online to hooking up on a first date. By the time we got to the slide (which he admits he stole and does not credit) that reads "There used to be a funny picture here until someone with no sense of humor got offended," I was done. There's nothing helpful and this course is actively, yes, offensive. I guess I have no sense of humor, huh?

I had this course purchased a few years before finally getting around to watching it. I though the material would be outdated, but it wasn't. The information was very valid and helpful. I would recommend this for anyone designing websites or landing pages for clients. If the author would re-make this course with better video/graphics - it would be a 5 star course.

Awesome course. I run a service business. After doing this course I rewrote my website. Tested it against my old copy and was blown away with the results. Well explained and objectively made me more money. Nice work Dan thanks for the course. Definitely one of the best.

I was originally put off by the one star review but I'm glad I took the course anyhow. Personally, I'm not someone who wants to spend weeks A/B testing little changes or getting into heaps of data, so I preferred this style of course over something more technical. What I liked about this course is that the concepts taught can be applied to many areas of business, as well as landing pages. This made it easier to understand, since many of the lessons build on marketing and sales ideas I was already familiar with but explained them in a new context, and related them to landing pages and online marketing. As an entrepreneur, but not an online marketing specialist, I found the material very useful and applicable. I immediately found ways to improve my own website that I know will increase my sales and overall profit. If you're in your first year or two of online marketing I think you'll find the concepts in this course really helpful.

As I said, this is a well worthy course to take. The Instructor explained every topics in great detail with examples. The content and quality of the lectures are very impressive. Dan is always ready to help for his students which shows he wants to build a positive reputation with his students which is great. Overall course is 5 out of 5. This course tell you all the knowledge that you can understand customer psychology and utilize it in your own landing page and you will see the difference. A+ course !

To be honest, the course started out a little slow, but I'm sooo glad I kept watching. Dan knows his stuff and his style is easy and approachable. After watching the good and bad example video I took a look at my old website and almost choked. Mine could have been one of the BAD examples. I immediately changed it using Dan's advice and it's a million times better. Thanks Dan!

Thank God, I got this course on a discount but even though it was only like 12 bucks, I wanted my money back. On principle. I will donate those 12 dollars to charity. The course is so ridiculously light on content it is mindboggling. This entire course could have been learned off of google in about 10 minutes. If you have never even thought about landing pages, never even read anything about online conversion, if you are an absolute 100% beginner, then .... I WOULD STILL SAY "Don't do it!". Google Conversion Rate Optimization, read the Conversion XL blogs , conversion rate experts blog, Widerfunnel blog, and prepare to gain 1000000% more information and valuable, actionable information and insight than this nonsense. This whole course was basic copy and paste from better blogs. CRO is a science. At no point is the actual scientific method used here. CRO involves testing, statistics, analytics. These basic best practices is like an industrial engineering course teaching you that you should make a product that works and isn't broken. It's kind of the basics. So if you want to spend money on the basics and lose time, money and effort and learn pretty much nothing, go ahead. You are far better off buying real books by actual industry leading experts like " You should test that" and " Landing page optimization". Btw, this is the first time I've ever asked for my money back on Udemy.

This course does a great job breaking down the elements that are crucial for landing page copywriting, the instructor does a great job with his explanations and gives relevant examples. After this course you will have the basics to go out and test with different copy for your landing pages and increase conversions on your site. Highly recommended!

I liked Dan Johnston's focus on psychology, which goes deeper than just a look at landing pages. I also liked the straight-forward way he talks. Dan's sound is sometimes uneven between videos, but that's a minor point because it's easy to adjust your sound levels. Overall, Dan's course helped me rethink the way I'm structuring web-pages. This is especially relevant on a website like mine, since it's content-rich and gets mainly search engine traffic, so ever page has to have landing page elements, not just the homepage.

This course is a must for any small business owner, online marketer, web designer, and writer. Dan gives you important tips and advice on building and presenting a landing page that optimizes conversion rates and increases sales in an easy-to-understand and comprehensive set of lessons that not only tell you how to do it, but also make you understand the why. I've built web pages in the past but this course gave me a better understanding of not just what are the best practices for different businesses but the reasons why they should be implemented.
