Description

Law has a very important role to play in what any HR manager does in a day, though it may not be always apparent. You actually require a good hold of different laws starting from the recruitment, to their onboarding, mandatory paper work, different benefits such as PF, ESI, bonus, gratuity etc.

Also you will need to ensure that the decision of dismissal is taken after proper disciplinary proceedings. If you do not follow proper procedures, the company may have to pay compensation for wrongful termination or reinstate the employee with back wages in some cases.

In fact, as you go up the chain, legal knowledge becomes indispensable. Let’s say you are drafting a leave policy for a company, and fail to check the relevant Shops and Establishments Act of the state, you will almost certainly get it wrong. The consequence can be paying heavy fines by the company if an inspector comes visiting, a potentially negative impact on the brand and embarrassment in front of other employees.

Also if you talk about different functions of HR such as Recruitment, Training and Development, Performance Appraisal, Grievance handling etc then you will notice that a part, small to big, is played by the respective managers as well. But labour laws are something which other people usually don’t have much of an idea and if you make this strong then this will give you a lot of importance and growth in that company.

Some of the key laws covered:

  • Introduction

  • New amendments (Code on Wages/ Code on Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions/ Code on Industrial Relations/Code on Social Security)

  • Apprentices Act, 1961

Only introductions videos are there, apart from this only Material is provided which can be available online without paying anything. If we opt for any course, we expect some visual explanation, not materials. Some topics are not properly covered. I am pretty disappointed from the course. Suggestion for new joiners- Only introduction videos are there.

It would have been better if the content is more engaging and quizzes. Felt it was more one-way speech and few were only pdfs. It would be great if we can have the pdf for all.

i believe the content was ok but it could be more presentable. Difference must be in learning material and interactive course

Interactive sessions with live cases would be more interesting. Real case scenarios can be created as case studies.

Well the content could be more virtual with like presentation and explaining it by the instructor or lecturer. Reading the information is not going to help much, otherwise the content of the course was good.

1. The lectures could have been well explained in videos 2. Most part of the course contains study material only without any videos 3. Only POSH act was explained in detail. Other acts were ignored 4. The laws related to statutory compliance is very less

voice over is bad, too casual. The visual aids can be more pictorial combined with text, text formatting can be made much more user friendly to read and follow

The response to the questions posted is not up to the mark. The quality and the detailed information is not there. I wouldn't recommend this course because all of this you can get on internet search itself
