Then you are right here!

Let’s face it. Data cleaning is always a big hassle, especially if we are short on time and want to deliver crucial data analysis insights to our audience.

But how can we be more efficient in the ETL/ Data Prep process? How can this process be more FUN?

Meet KNIME!

A great tool which comes to our rescue. KNIME allows us to do data preparation / data cleaning in a very appealing drag and drop interface. (No coding experience is required yet it still allows us if we want to use languages like R, Python or Java. So, we can code if we want but don’t have to!). The flexibility of KNIME makes that happen.

In this course we lay the foundation for your successfull transition from Excel to KNIME

More specifically we learn

  • Reading and writing Excel data (file, files, sheet, sheets, locations, …)

  • Updating Excel sheets (append data, overwrite cells, …)

  • Covering KNIME‘s equivalent Excel Formulas (Vlookup, (Advanced) Filtering, …)

  • Formatting Excel Worksheets (Font, background color, borders

Further we will have an introduction to visualizations in KNIME

In particular

  • available visualization options

  • Required data shaping

Ready? Set! GO!

Dan knows how to explain key concepts in a manner which makes first time KNIME users feel comfortable, and always promotes lateral and out of the box thinking. I feel these KNIME series are a good way to explore this tool. Thanks a lot Dan

The course “KNIME for Microsoft Excel Users” did not meet my expectations because the fundamental reason to enroll in the course was to learn more Excel functionalities using KNIME however what presented in the course was very basic and already explained in other course “KNIME - crash course for beginners” and it was expecting more advance Excel techniques and functionalities using KNIME for example (Page Layout, Themes, Print, Tables, functions (Mid, Left, Right etc.), Data manipulation (text to column, convert text/CSV to Excel) but none of those explained in this course. Also, the dataset used for this course was very simple as I was expected to use complex dataset to work with Excel because most of the Excel users work on very complex data (Accountants). I don’t think a separate course “KNIME for Microsoft Excel Users” has a justification because most of the techniques are already explained in other courses however I suggest adding new material(s) in the course with complex techniques will be more helpful and beneficial for basic/advance excel users. If you have already enrolled in other KNIME course(s) I suggest skip this course for now until more Excel advance techniques / functionalities include with complex dataset. Thanks
