Description

Kubernetes is the gold standard in the world of container orchestration. It was originally created by Google, based on their experience of building and managing containers at scale ( at Google Scale). However its now driven by Cloud Native Compute Foundation ( CNCF), an open body, which also offers the official certification i.e. "Kubernetes Certified Administrator". Kubernetes comes with mind boggling features, is very reliable, and extremely sophisticated container orchestration engine. It can let you convert your infrastructure into a Container as a Service (Platform), brining in some of the awe inspiring features such as Zero Down Time Deployments, Fault Tolerance, Auto Scaling, Cloud and Storage integrations, which were extremely difficult to implement. And it brings it to the masses with its truly open, lock in free eco system.

This course would serves as the first step in your kubernetes journey. It would help you get started with Kubernetes quickly and build a foundation while learning by practicing it.

So far, it's great! I came in with basic knowledge of Docker, so I was at just the right level for this course.

Visualisation arts not previewed the idea right to me. Some of content not covered to get me have to enroll the paid course of the instructor. Thank you for free course. Best Regards!

Good course for overall understanding. Can get thru in one evening and get a basic idea to determine if and where you want to go deeper. You don't have to get a Google Cloud account; you can just follow along with what he does, which is nice for seeing overall concept.

Nice intro to k8s on GKE. I had to change the image of the frontend, otherwise the example wasn't working.

Voice was very low for lot of chapters and need to keep my speaker volume to full. Need to look into that audio for future course

Not sure why the docker image used is updated, the exposed port is changed to 8080 and it is a completely different app.

He used docker images of real-world applications, so that's good. I'm a visual learner so It's good that he used GCP instead of the command line to use kubernetes, because watching a tutorial solely presented in CLI makes me sleepy. Although, because of his accent, I kept hearing ports instead of pods which confused me throughout the course. I recommend going through the tutorial "Learn Kubernetes Basics" in the kubernetes official website before taking this course so you can keep up with the videos in this course.

GCP+Kubernetes in a brief explanation! That's what I was looking for (Brief introduction+implementation course), Now I know what I should take for the next course to improve the knowledge acquired.

Was quite dull and the animations were poor. No projects were build. He explained only the components and a few features. Wasn't engaging at all.

Barely started on this course and the instructor just rushes right through what they're saying, VERY poor editing, NO labs or even text instructions on the resources we need to pull to replicate the course instructions (including the fact that GCP needs a credit card/debit card without 2FA to use the free credit/test instance which in my case is not possible), none of the course material is standardized or uses any type of standard documentation, it's ALL what the instructor has written and tested in their own personal technical project, sometimes can't understand what the instructor is saying, thought I'd at least be able to get some information but this free course is as good as merely just learning and practicing yourself. Don't enroll for this poorly done, thrown together and rushed through course material, you're probably not bound to learn anything.

This course is more about how to use Google cloud that a basic course of kubernetes. From my point of view it should be more focused on basic usage of kubectl. At least it was I was looking for. Anyway a good course to understand what is kubernetes.

No sense in doing this course as a beginner. Furthermore the trainer is (sometimes) hard to understand because of his accent
