Java 11 For Complete Beginners

Bravo, Mr.Purcell did a wonderful job in creating a course about Java 11, containing all the love for bits and bytes. Formidable course in a sense, which honors any dedication to computer science. I only can think of three flaws in this superb course and I do mention them in the same spirit. 1. The file writing section wasn't structured enough. 2. The MIDI example needs refactoring, because it needs a sequencer, to work properly. 3. The section about generics must be crystal clear and comprehensive because it serves as a strong foundation for later sections and topics. It was good, but not perfect, imho. This is probably the best Java Course on Udemy up to this day. Thanks a lot.

The quality of course is above average , the instructor knows his craft but speaks slow as f... , and students should have a lot of patience to finish his course. However comparing this with other courses online about java fundementals this is top 3.

What can I say, it's a great course, John has a good voice and a nice sense of humour, the course is perfectly fine for beginners (I was one when I began it), took me about 1.5 months to get through it all doing all exercises, not rushing through if I didn't understand a subject, usually doing 3hours per day after work. Already got the Advanced course John made, because I enjoyed how he explained things.

As for person who had no previous experience in programming or knowledge about programming at all, i like this course. It is easy to understand, especially at the beginning. Sound and video quality where perfect. John is very good in explaining complicated stuff in a simple way, i had only few videos where i wish i had more explanation of the logic behind. If you are complete beginner like me, this course will make you love programming and give motivation to learn further. Thank you John Purcell.

A course that really keeps me eager to finally give java a shot and go beyond University knowledge from more than 10 years ago. The format is really good and helps demystify and understand the language.

It's been easy to understand and follow so far. It's presented simply, which reduces confusion and frustration.

the course syllabus is not for beginners , like most of the programming course i have followed it was always starting from vairbale,naming conventions etc etc but here the intructor is not trying to explain and form the base .. but is directly jumping to major concepts. and that too in wrong order.. just just just dont go for this course if you really want to learn from scratch

Could use better structuring and some slides or charts to clarify concepts. As is, there's a lot of talking and examples are provided but not enough real world examples. There is a lot of zigzagging later on in the course which further makes concepts difficult to understand.

John is an amazing instructor, I enjoyed working through every minute of this course and I will definitely be checking out his other courses.

Suggestion it would have been better for me if it had( Cons) A -Database examples, B -A real world example( not games), C- Grouping projects by subject matter. D- using Java on a website. We have not made desktop applications in years. The (Pros) teacher gives many in depth examples of functions and methods. This was my first course in Java.
