First off, Scott is active and helpful. Having dealt with requests when questions are posted. This is very useful and very helpful. His videos are well organised and cover the basics extremely well. Going beyond others I have seen, he recaps each video at the end and has titled them appropriately. Most important, I was able to follow the videos and try the code myself without having to stop the video frequently. So if you are learning iOS development for the first time or moving on from a previous course, I would recommend this course.

Scott does a great job of clearly explaining how to develop for the iOS platform using XCode. He takes things a step further by showing several examples of differences between iOS 6 and iOS7 and the way things are displayed in each version of iOS. If you are new to iOS development, you'll find what you need in this course to help you build your first iOS app.

This course is a great complement to iOS Development Code Camp, also by learntoprogram.tv. The mentioned course is the best way I have found to go from a novice developer without any knowledge of objective C, to deploying Xcode and working on projects. Yes, I get stuck from time to time. Yes, it's not as easy as it sounds, but with patience I am starting to realize that it is possible to teach yourself to code online. In terms of IOS for Beginners, the lectures are really clear although my one concern was that the resolution on the videos was initially too low for me to follow what was going on. If you're having this problem, simply make sure your video output is set to HD (720p) and the video quality becomes much better. The videos are very informative and for the price, it's a pretty good deal. However, I'm still curious to see what the lab exercises entail since coding is one of those things you learn by doing. If you want to jump start your career in mobile development, check out these two classes and begin working on something. You'll be surprised by how quickly you can move from "Hello World" to a prototype for an app you've had in mind. Again, it isn't easy but it can be done.
