Why take this course?

AutoHotkey is an amazing tool that can help automate programs on your windows computer.  In this course we take a deeper-dive into programming with AutoHotkey.  The skills learned in this course will help you develop better Robotics Process Automation software.

I highly recommend you either work through the Intro to AutoHotkeys Udemy course or have ~6 months experience programming in AutoHotkey as we hit the ground running.

We cover a lot of great tools in AutoHotkey in this course.  But don't worry, you don't need to be a programmer to understand the course.  Here's a brief outline of what you'll learn:

  1. Some great default settings to have in your scripts

  2. Various types of ways to Send data/text/actions to programs

  3. Using a Set Timer to give the illusion of multi-threading

  4. Reading and Writing to .ini files (great ways to store preferences & settings)

  5. Reading and Writing to the Windows Registry

  6. Automating programs with Controls  (amazing way to automate older programs!)

  7. How to automate older programs using their menus

  8. How to work with 5 types of AutoHotkey Loops

  9. How to work with Simple and Associative Arrays / Dictionaries / Maps

  10. How to get help with your code

Take your next steps to learning AutoHotkey and how to put the "personal" back into your computer.

This course assumes you've already taken the Intro to AutoHotkey course.  People having used AutoHotkey for more than 6 months can probably jump into it without having taken the prior course

Not bad at all. But a little more structure wouldn't hurt. For example Lesson 56. Trial and error method with no success. Is the word Waste of time too strong?

dicho modulo es una introducción, lo mas sustancioso fue la pagina de recursos presentada por el instructor

Very good match. I especially like that fact that it was NOT so scripted that he did not have any issues so I learned how to troubleshoot some of my AHK scripts!

Very useful to introduce you to many options in AHK. I would of liked some small assignments to reinforce the concepts as the Gui class did though.

Great course-clearly explained. Huge time-saver with a comprehensive list of links to relevant resources. Must have taken years to compile.

Mr Glines videos on youtube are very useful. This is why I raised my rating. I had to start somewhere with Autohotkey and his introductory course was interesting. But I am really fed up with the improvisations in his videos. This is a paid course that is supposed to be watched again and again to help also as a reference. When half the videos contain debugging and trouble shooting, it is a waste of time

Joe includes in his course valuable lessons on how to experiment and troubleshoot which is fundamental for unraveling the endless possibilities in AHK. Real use examples and demonstration from an experienced user is the best in getting started. creating, using and practicing AutoHotkey. Joe's long time use of the program makes for a great instructor in this course. The demonstrations show how the commands work in an easy to understand exercise.

Love the way Joe communicates in that he is honest, down to earth and so knowledgeable. It is quite obvious that his passion is sharing the knowledge that he has obtained over the years with all of us. You learn to then teach and when you teach you continue to learn!

Is good, what I expected there are not many courses about autohotkey well structured in the web so this could be the best one, there a things that I can apply to my work immediately but there another that I found really not useful and unfortunately big part of the course are directed to the controls excellent feature but unfortunately is getting obsolete, with the introduction of new interfaces these controls feature are not working, in the course he only uses a basic notepad to demostrate them so I look these controls a little bit gimmick, in fact AHK as I see is getting obsolete in many of its features, thats because have passed many years without any update V2 its hunged in Alpha step and does not look to be officially released in a short time, so as conclusion ahk has powerful features that can still be used to autmate in a very easy manner, take the things that you need but if tou are looking for a more serious language take a look into another like pyhton.

Hi Joe. I have been binge watching AHK stuff over the last few months including getting through a fair wedge of your Youtube content and this course. Thanks for making all the content! My only request would be that for the educational stuff (As opposed to the Podcast type exploration sessions) would be to have preset examples for code that you can paste in a section at a time. I know you have mentioned about troubleshooting being part of the learning process, but when trying to pick up concepts it definitely makes things easier when sections are pasted in and the reviewed as apposed to creating examples on the fly. Looking forward to your next one. Cheers

Joe is great at showing you how to use the code in a complete and clear way. I especially like how he allowed students to see how je trouble shoots as he writes the code.
