Q: “When do I have to finish the class?”

A: You can go at whatever pace suits you best! You’ve got a lot of other things going on in your life, so just because you enroll in the workshop doesn’t mean you need to complete it right away. In fact, you can start and finish the workshop whenever you want. Either way, we’re going to be there with you every step of the way to ensure you’re successful and can get certified.

Q: “How soon can I finish the class?”

A: The Instructional Design Mastery class is in three parts.  You will need the three courses on Udemy to complete the 16 hours of video training, so if you are dedicating yourself full time to it, you could probably finish in 3 days, but we don’t recommend that. Instead, we recommend you take 7 – 14 days (if you can give your full attention to the material. If you only have a little bit of time each day, then you should dedicated 4 – 6 weeks to finish it up and take the test.

Q: “How certain can I be that I will finish?”

A: It’s never a guarantee. If it was, then our course wouldn’t mean anything. Instead, it does mean something, and because of that, you’re going to have to work at this thing to get completed. When you do finish, you can be certain that it will actually mean something. The class and the activities are both going to challenge you, but rest assured we make everything simple, easy to understand, and quick to learn. With that said, you will have to earn your completion.

Q: “How hard is the course?”

A: You can liken our course to the story of “goldilocks and the three bears” – not too hot and not too cold. In other words, they’re hard enough that you need to study and know your stuff, but we don’t make them intentionally hard just to be difficult. We make them as hard as they need to be to make sure you know how to “Rule the Room”. We believe learning doesn’t happen until a behavior change occurs, so to preserve the integrity of this certification, we have made the test challenging and the questions specific to our proprietary Rule the Room Train the Trainer techniques, methodologies and recipes. Don’t expect to pass the test just because you have taken other trainings or certification courses in the past. This training is different, and the course will reflect those differences.

I loved this course! I'm also glad that Jason made it clear that this isn't something that will happen overnight, and along with the Train The Trainer Bootcamp, there are so many things to add - it's going to take a long time to implement them all! I only took off the half star for minor things like I didn't really get to know the participants by name, and sometimes Jason would address them as if we all remembered what type of learner they were. Also, I wish that there was a "already filled out" version of the handbook (I don't really have the resources to print it out, and editing PDF's to add notes is a pain.) I'm in the middle of my Master's for ID, and it's clear that this course isn't just "Some guy who has his own theories" - much of it is based in sound ID theory, and I really like how Jason has boiled it down to the salient parts as well as how to actually apply the theory (I find that my courses spend way too much time citing this person or that and talking about theory but not enough of HOW TO USE IT IN THE REAL WORLD, which Jason does!)

Very Good content, Jason is an experienced instructor . I was a bit disappointed because the video was not tailored to an online class. If I may suggest for the future, if Jason is tapping his classes to share four things can be done to improve the quality of the course and the benefit to the online learners: 1 - add microphones for the participants so we can hear their comments and contributions. 2- add an extra camera fixed on the PPT screen because it was hard to see the presentation's details... and a second one that rotates and captures the instructor. 3- improve the sound quality of the video 4- improve the lighting too dark... 5- the marketing video section leave much to be desired... drop it or improve it. The contents are good, they helped me to get more structured and organized in creating a learning module that is useful for the target audience. Proper research on the audience's pain points, wants, and needs gives more impact and makes it easier in creating the best lessons for them. However, I would suggest to create a module that is intended for self-paced learners instead of recording an offline classroom session. It was hard for me to follow along with so many distractions happening inside the video and I felt left out. In addition, it would be better to make a module discussing more general/common positions in a company rather than discussing specific topic, such as medical, for self-paced modules since the learners may come from many different backgrounds, thus they can relate more with the examples presented. I would also prefer for the countdown timer to be removed when there is a skill practice since it is not necessary for self-paced learners; they can just pause the video if it is possible for them to practice right away. A good replacement for the countdown timer is displaying the contents discussed. I am aware they are available on the workbook, but not everyone is available to access the workbook while learning, they might listen to this while multitasking for example and check the video for every minute and so. Yes, there are a lot of people who do that, that is why some people choose self-paced modules; they are not able to sit down and listen just like in a classroom situation. :)

The flip charts used are a big no no. You cant really see anything. Also when the instructor questions the class, you cannot hear or see them, it defeats the purpose.

Course was great, but I listened to most of it in the car so I couldn't write things down and now I have blanks in my training manual that make it hard to refer back to. Also, it is very hard to hear some of the answers from the audience.

Very good course. Well structured and very useful. will definitely be referencing back to the videos and the workbook in the future. Main reason why I marked it down is that I dont think its right that this course is split up into 3 and that you have to pay 3 times just to do the complete course. Feels a little dishonest/sly. Would rather just have it as one long course.
