Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Essentials

Enrolling in a course on equality and diversity was a transformative journey that opened my eyes to the complexities and nuances of these crucial societal issues. From the outset, the course challenged me to confront my own biases and preconceptions, urging me to approach the subject with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Throughout the course, I was exposed to a diverse range of perspectives, experiences, and narratives, each shedding light on different aspects of inequality and discrimination. From discussions on race and ethnicity to examinations of gender identity and sexual orientation, every topic served as a poignant reminder of the multifaceted nature of oppression and privilege. One of the most impactful aspects of the course was the opportunity to engage with individuals from various backgrounds and walks of life. Hearing firsthand accounts of discrimination and marginalization brought home the stark reality of inequality and underscored the importance of amplifying marginalized voices. As the course progressed, I found myself grappling with uncomfortable truths and confronting my own privilege. Yet, instead of feeling discouraged, I was inspired to become an active agent of change. Armed with newfound knowledge and awareness, I began to challenge discriminatory attitudes and behaviors in both personal and professional settings. Moreover, the course equipped me with practical tools and strategies for promoting diversity and inclusion in my community. Whether through advocating for policy changes, organizing awareness campaigns, or fostering dialogue across differences, I gained a deeper understanding of my role in advancing social justice. In the end, the course left an indelible mark on my perspective and outlook on the world. It instilled in me a sense of responsibility to strive for a more equitable and inclusive society, where every individual is valued and empowered to thrive. As I continue on my journey, I carry with me the lessons learned and the commitment to championing equality and diversity in all aspects of my life.

Very useful course. Very clear and to the point. I especially enjoyed the videos and role plays. They were very effective in delivering the message of each unit.

The questions didn't always match up to the content in the videos. Videos also ended a bit abruptly in places

Very informative and engaging. Actor portrayals helped illustrate better than plain lecturing. Kept me engaged and interested throughout.

Some of the quiz questions need to be reworded for clarity. At least one had the right/wrong answers switched.

The 'anecdotal' type videos detract from the facts, figures and statistics which are more helpful in understanding the issues surrounding diversity

Good to learn the very basics of equality, diversity and Inclusion. Great to clarify that diversity is not limited to gender or age.
