IBM designed the IMS with Rockwell and Caterpillar starting in 1966 for the Apollo program, where it was used to inventory the very large bill of materials (BOM) for the Saturn V moon rocket and Apollo space vehicle. it is the one of the oldest databases which are still now in use. coming to this course you will learn the basic theoretical concepts of IMS DB. this course is designed for beginners. this is not for experts in this field.

The presentation is excellent, but the prononciation of DL/I is incorrect. En effet DL/I means Data Language/One.
Because the I in DL/I means ONE, this letter est un chiffre romain. So DL/I is equivalent to DL/1. For that reason you must say DL ONE.

I would rather read the material myself than listening to this course. Instructor is just reading from the material. Not even attempting to make it sound like naturally explaining. There is no explaination of any concepts other than what is written. Waste of money.

It was essentially just reading what was on the screen. It tended to jump through diagrams quickly. It is okay for a start.

However, the reading from the slides are way too fast, with a heavy accent.
I muted the voice, and read the slides myself.

qua niveau prima, de docent is vrij eentonig in z'n intonatie, je moet erg goed focussen om hem te volgen. Ook het engels is niet echt je-dat. ik had liever losse plaatjes gezien met een verhaaltje per plaatje, dat zorgt voor natuurlijke pauzes, nu is het een lange story. ik weet niet of er überhaupt nog andere cursussen over ims zijn, hij geeft wel mooi een beeld stap voor stap, maar het had beter kunnen worden ingesproken door iemand anders, die wat meer intonatie heeft in zn stem en ook het Engels wat duidelijker uitspreekt. I felt like the instructor went through everything very fast with is reading of the slides. I also felt like the end of the course quiz could have been more in dept as I feel like 2 questions really isn't checking your knowledge of IMS DB

Content is good with some errors but the instructor just reads off the content for the most part. He sometimes gives some insight into how it is applied but not where or why. Hopefully will be clear from subsequent videos
