I enjoyed Andy Morris teaching style. The course is laid out to get the student to start painting easy projects right away which helps to build confidence. This helped me tremendously! I have tried other courses were you leave the classroom, go home and look at a blank canvas and just can't seem to get started. Thank you Andy!

This is the third course I followed. I thought that the actual practice painting was very poor. The examples painted were in my idea very weak and missed much of the brightness of the abstract painting. I will not recommend this course to others. Maybe perfect for a Best Western, but I was expecting far more.

Love the tutorials, the instruction is clear and fun to watch! I found myself saying "oh that's a good idea" or "I really want to try that" more than once. I've purchased a couple abstract courses and this one is my favorite so far- a lot of effort was put in and it shows.

I learned some tips I can use. I am especially grateful to know about using house paint for my large abstract paintings. I enjoyed learning the technique used, it is much more liberal than other abstract artists I have learned from. For me, some of the videos were to long and I would have liked to see the brush and pallet while painting.

Id like to see what he’s doing below the bottom of the screen (which brush he’s grabbing, how he’s getting the paint on the brush, how much paint he’s grabbing, watering down the paint etc… ). Still moving forward but its one thing id probably be frustrated with if i had paid full price. At the same time i love his casual attitude and reinforcement to just go with it and you cant really make mistakes with acrylic. Very approachable

I paid for Abstract 1 and 2 and started the course, but wasn’t able to even download the materials list and couldn’t even reach anyone. Website not user friendly!!!

Would be nice to see what is happening with the paints. Also some reasoning on why to use certain materials like what is gesso vs. white paint. The course teaches me how to paint the same exact painting but copying is not really what art is about. That is why I would like to hear how to take these tips but apply them to my own work. Maybe that is coming later on.

I am somewhat of an experienced painter, I sell my own paintings however I don't sell much. I am trying to acquire new skills and find my style. The abstract piece was really good.

It is interesting to watch the artists process but as a beginner I want to know more about what did he do to prepare his canvas, did he use gesso or something else as they seem textured. He’s using hardware store paint brushes but what are they made from. The sounds of his scrubbing paint on the canvas makes the brushes seem to be stiff bristles but he never said. I also agree about seeing his pallet as he mixes colors

It was a very good and clear introduction. I feel more confident in attempting my first painting now. There were only a couple of thing’s that weren’t fully detailed. I would also like to see the artists worktable table and palette as he was using it.

I think he has lots to teach but it is painfully slow to watch each stroke go here or there. Some sections need a bit of speed. While this is great for beginners, grreat, I am a professional mixed media artist so maybe, perhaps, there could be more challenges or hints to make me want to jump right in. I know much of what he is saying and would appreciate learning a bit more motivating ideas to try my first abstract?

Great tutor, but sometimes unprofessional. 1. He said that people can also use house paint (well, we can use it- but such art cannot be sold, because: Although latex house paint is the closest to acrylic paint, it is not archival quality and may compromise your painting over time (he didn't mention that in the course). Second issue: he said the paintings doesn't require to be varnished...and even when he decided to varnish he used mediums to varnish (instead of varnish). Quote from the producers: Our Matte Varnish and our Matte Medium have the same non-yellowing, flexible polymer base. The main difference is that the Matte Varnish is formulated to preserve paint film clarity, by using less matting agents in the formulation. Matte Medium can be applied as a final, non-removable top coat for acrylic paintings. Be aware, however, that the colors, especially darker values, will lose some visual intensity and clarity. Likewise, Matte Varnish may be mixed with the acrylic color, however, it will not reduce color sheen to the degree that Matte Medium will. I hope you understand my point of view... Thank you
