I like the framework, it really helps me to think about what to ask people and how to phrase questions. I'm still not convinced that the demo interviews are showing the technique off to best effect. I understand not wanting to have rigid questions, but in reality you've got to keep people focused on the product / area of interest and I feel it's always better to be well prepared with some questions to keep you on track rather than completely improvising.

On this course, Gary proposes GRAMS as a structured approach to interview customers/clients/users for eliciting insights and discover latent needs. The course includes an hands-on demonstration of the GRAMS method, a couple mnemonics that will make your work easier and clarifies about the relevance of rapport, empathy and sampling in the interviewing process. Despite i've considerable experience in research, I found the GRAMS method a very coherent and valid framework for my projects. It's a simple and flexible but also a robust and hollistic approach to capture the relationship between individuals and the research topic in a compreehsive manner, reason why I will definetly embeed this approach in my research instruments. If you work in areas like marketing research, UX, growth marketing, service design, design research, CX, sales and innovation, i can only recommend you to invest your time learning the GRAMS method in this course.
