was expecting more, esp concrete steps/guidelines for a great presentation like - 1. structure -you did cover that but it wasn't much helpful,again no specific pointers 2. few guidelines for opening the TED talk, the middle section and then the ending.

I do like your presentation, and your expressions and gestures are also good. Its just that I started to lose interest (as I'm not used to giving attention to details on these matters).. I was expecting a head start practical lessons or illustrations on 'How to really give a TED-style talk' and then slowly moving towards more theoretical sides (if that makes sense). But, I'm gonna watch all the clips and try to garner interest on public speaking :) Thanks, though!

This is the 2nd course which I enrolled from TJ. Obviously, I did it because I was benefited by 1st one. This course is focused on preparation for TED talks, however the concepts of public speaking can be derived from any content delivered by TJ. I found few repetitive videos in the course, maybe because they were copied as is form other course which I attended.

Pros: TJ Walker exudes confidence. Cleancut with bright white teeth. Very adamant on practicing by video'ing oneself, reviewing, sharing, learning by doing. Promotes: practice, practice, practice. Offers one-on-one help, direct access, video response, emergency phone number (!) and even substantial guarantee for success (modulo requirements). Short videos. 3 downloadable books for reference, etc.. Cons: Topical treatment. Generic content. Vague advice (slightly more concrete in the books). Distracting TV studio lookalike background.

The course absolutely helped me with craft and keying in more on my message. The instructor was very engaging and held my interest. He was so engaging, I competed the whole course in one sitting. The production was great. I would have given it a 5 but the last lecture which I believe was incredibly important was too short. I was hoping that the instructor will delve into filling the forms...using practical examples of the questions on the forms and working us through what could be examples of responses...If another class was taught solely on that, I would come back for it.

Even though I am just beginning my career as a public speaker, and now that it will take years for me to even think about applying at TED, I completed this course in about an hour and gained very powerful and sometime not so obvious tips and enhancing my presentation.
