Why take this course?

When you design a product you make a lot of assumptions. And a major reason that product designs fail is because of these assumptions. The assumptions that will get you into the most trouble are the assumptions you make about your target audience -- who they are, what they want to do, and how they want to do it.

In this course you will learn all the different types of user research, from personas, scenarios, and task analyses, to field studies, card sorts, tree tests and journey maps.

At first sight not a visually superappealing production. The speaker might not be in the league of super hip presenters regarding the style of presentation and studio. But going through the lessons it becomes apparent that the content, structure, didactics and presentation is really of absolute superior quality experience and professionality. Maybe not the most entertaining course but if you really seriously want to learn the most from the best, then this is it.

Susan speaks with simple words and short sentences. Its her language that makes this course excellent.

Really love it. The last question on the first quiz might need to be written in a different way, otherwise really love the course.

Although the information is very much "high level", it is detailed enough to understand what it is about (what a persona is etc) and to go out and do on your own. To me this is the best form of learning. Give me the concept and allow me to go out and test run it for myself. Superb stuff.

We need to understand the whole process so the user can easily work with the process. This is the way.

This material could easily fit a short article but not a 1,5h course. There's an instructor face on a screen 90% of time - is this a direct advertisement or narcissism? Students wants to see more graphics, images, theses, examples etc.

The course was easy to understand and offered a lot of valuable insight into creating user personas and scenarios. Worth taking if you're looking to get an introduction to these concepts. What Susan's courses lack are specific case studies and particular examples - to help illustrate her strong theory. But the theory was great so, a course worth checking out!

Bla-bla-bla :( have to wait till video #6 before you talk about something else but yourself. This is auto promotion. Poor video quality, all could have been said in 3 slides. Please refund.

A really worthwhile course clarifying personas and scenarios and how they relate to task analysis, use case scenarios and the following steps of the design process.

there should be examples, taking students every step from beginning to end. pick a topic and use it at every lecture.

Her explanations were simple and easy to understand. She moved at a moderate pace so I could re-read and continue when desired. I learnt about various data that can be collected to form user groups and the difference between project personas and enterprise-wide personas. It was great learning a bit more about each. I have also used Use Cases before so I was also glad to learn the difference.

Lively, can finish in a session. I would have given it a 5 star but for the following: 1. Practical exercises (even if it means just purely documenting) 2. Templates and some near real life examples That said, the topic doesnt require this as much, so I am happy to use it
