Description

No matter which role you have in a building construction project, it is vital that you understand the "guts" of a building in order to make a positive impact.  For contractors, engineers, architects, real estate developers and facilities managers, it takes years or even decades to learn the materials and systems in a building.  The typical source of this education is on-the-job because this material is not taught in schools. Young professionals spend an extraordinary amount of time trying to understand the complexities of a modern building.  Every project is different and the materials and systems can change drastically from one building to the next.  Time can be better spent by adding value to projects instead of learning terminology and construction sequencing.  The lessons in the course have been developed to boil down years of on-the-job training into high-impact, bite-sized classes.

I have taken many many other courses. This has been the best online course "on earth" for Construction!

more picture examples where the talking is long and the topic gets more complex, would be nice. plus, there are some transcription errors which can be confusing. for getting a general overview it is perfect though.

Understanding the role each trade plays in project and sequence of appearance not to mention the type applications I could use in the field. This course was helpful in explaining that.

As a BIM Mgr at an Arch' firm, I want to know about as many aspects of building construction as possible. The course's teacher gives a good overview of each topic and area.

Oh man! This reminds me of my first days at a construction site. Felt like a total idiot! As i'm taking this course to reenter the workforce, i can't wait to wow the technical interviewer. From a fellow engineer, we need more engineers like you!

The course idea is unique! I did learn some stuff concerning the US Standards. Matthew does have a good sense of humor and speaks very clearly. however; 1 The course lacks diagrams, mechanical and electrical. 2 Too basic and no actual design calculations! ( -1 star ) 3 It lacks the European standards (-1 star as well)

Awesome course. Highly recommended. Gives you the required basic to intermediate knowledge in a clear and engaging manner. Only regret is that the course is split into 6 parts which I would have to buy separately. That drives up the overall cost of the course.
