What you will learn

Design engaging haptics for extended reality applications

Understand where haptics make sense

Develop a custom haptics feedback

Implement haptics within Unity

Haptics in Unity

Haptics for XR

VR development on Unity

Why take this course?

Learn and understand the basics of haptic design and development for XR (AR, VR, MR) on Unity3D through theoretical courses and practical use cases.

“3.5 billion people have a haptics device in their pocket, and no one is really leveraging it,” commented Vezzoli in reference to a study by international business data firm, Statista. With this course, we want to empower digital creators to engage on a deeper level with their audience through the sense of touch.

For each video, you will discover interesting and new concepts that you can immediately apply to your virtual reality, augmented reality or mixed reality projects. You will learn where haptics sense, what is haptics and what are the uses cases for haptics in XR with a step by step walk though live examples.

All lessons are requiring a basic knowledge of Unity, as well as an access to Unity and the Haptics Composer of Interhaptics. All documentations and tutorials are available on the Interhaptics website.

I'm doing my master thesis on VR and I think your framework would be very useful. However, it may require some time to get used to it and finding out about it. There's some videos and documentation, but not very detailed. Hopefully in the future more people will be using it and more tutorials will be available. Thanks!

Very interesting and informative course with lots of new insights, both on the theory and practical side, on how to implement haptics inside Unity projects. The pace was very good and I was able in no-time to create a few haptic experience of my own by leveraging the incredible power of Unity combined with the Interhaptics software (which I downloaded for free from interhaptics.com!). Adding the sense of touch to the Quest controllers really adds to the immersion for all kind of experiences so I can say that in terms of force feedback they were almost like PS1 controllers (mute). Now, through some quick implementation they can feel like PS5 controllers (hi-fi) with the added haptic feedback and the new motor introduced with the Quest 2. So without further ado, it's a must take Unity course that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I didn't know this technology very well yet and the course taught me a lot. I will definitely apply it in my future projects!

I strongly recommend these lessons. In the first case, Haptic seem difficult to understand but thanks to the work of Eric Vezzoli, I improve my knowledge of this notion which will be so important in the future.
