Why take this course?

Welcome to the preview version of the Hands on Sketch training for learning mobile app design. In this version of the course, I’ll walk you step-by-step through the process of duplicating your first app screen, a few popular logos and a really cool metallic button, all using Sketch.  Upon completion, you'll have a good introduction to using Sketch. For an advanced understanding, I recommend enrolling in the full version of the course.

What kind of App screens will I be duplicating in this course?:

  • Facebook mobile app

  • Basic versions of popular mobile app Icons

This is the worst free tutorial I've ever seen in my entire life. Now I got it. Some instructors like to create a free version of their full, paid version course on Udemy. However, I benefited 0% from this course! I'm not kidding! Also, I did an operation in my ears because of that noisy, crappy, annoying start jazz music! I don't recommend even watching this useless tutorial! maybe the sketch documentation on their site will be better than this crappy tutorial! Thank you!

This course is great if you don't already own and know how to use Adobe Illustrator to create icons. However, I am a Senior Graphic Designer and I am well-educated in how to create vector icons in illustrator so the icon creation wasn't very helpful to me. It was helpful to learn the key commands and overall processes of using Sketch though. I was using a 81.1 version of Sketch and several things were in different locations than they are in this course. I think this course needs updated with a newer version so students can follow along more accurately. Overall, I did learn the gist of how to use Sketch so it was helpful.

Very comprehensive content for a free course. Would have liked to see all of the basics covered here, but I definitely understand. Take the course and see for yourself. One of the best Sketch instructors on Udemy IMO.

Wasn't expecting as much content as I got from this course with it being free. Great intro to Sketch. I'll be looking for the full version mentioned in the videos.

This course is great. The lectures are organized, I like the pace, and the instructor's delivery of the content is natural, no rambling or non-sense. Course covers exactly what I've been looking for.

Udemy is great! Been downloading lessons to my phone and watching when I don't have access to my computer. Would recommend the app and this course.

Despite being free, it's a very nice intro to Sketch. Lots of detail and well thought out instruction. Just finished and will most likely buy the full version.

Very organized and sets expectations for what you'll be learning. The Facebook page project was a good example to include! Class is highly recommended.

Well understandable, beginner friendly, teacher's tone works, decent pacing - at some points, like when a new panel / tool is used, I'd like to have some more seconds of breathing time to follow, but it worked out fine with some stop/play.

Wow. The first 3 videos are absolute BS. How about teaching the course and not wasting videos on common sense and bloat. Horrible so far.

The course flow is easy to follow, nicely distributed, illustrated and explained.. Just one minor comment: The icon in the last video was not done exactly as the one that was being duplicated... As it had a sort of bevel & emboss effect, making it shine a little bit around the edges.. and the video didn't include how to do that....

Hello, I do appreciate your method which is working carefully step by step, explaining what we are going to do and learn here. However, you could put everything in few mins in just one video. It's my personal opinion, I was expecting shorter intro. Another thing, royalty free item doesn't mean you can use it for free. It means you can use it multiply times after you pay for a license. Best, Misa_

DaFont is the worst place on the internet to grab free fonts. There is so much trash on there. I also just want to start the tutorial and not have separate videos telling me where the instructor is getting all of his free stuff. We can go over that briefly if you must in the actual process.
