I came here pretty much just for VPN, pfBlockerNG and ClamAV, since already got a lot learning from other courses, I think the Info I got just not what I was specting, in the other hand, the way how everything is pacefully explained is good I loved that.

This course requires the installation of pfSense in an Oracle Virtual Box vm. I have tried to complete this installation for 2 days. The installation runs exactly as the video shows but rather than start up, it returns to the start of the installation. There is absolutely no good way to contact anyone to ask for help, which I'm sure is something obvious.

Very nice presentation. Seems to apply to the pfSense current software 2.5.2-RELEASE and current version of Virtual Box. Lab demonstrations appear mostly accurate with very few modifications for most home users. I have gone through various other courses and labs, this is the only one I would recommend to those with Linux and Virtual Box experience and familiarity with general networking principles. The lecture is well thought out and the presenter has a pleasant speaking voice (although it is slightly monotone) he speaks clearly, accurately, and at a even, steady pace. I have attended many IT vendor classes and this one certainly matches those in professionalism and content.

Abschnitt 1 war sehr gut als Einführung. Ab Abschnitt 2 wird es teilweise sehr schwer den Vorgang des Dozenten zu folgen bzw. warum er was macht bzw. einstellt.

The instructor covered the basics and advanced topics quite well. My only gripe was I had no idea where he was clicking to get into various menus and options but you can have your five stars for a very informative and properly organized course! I actually went to pay for the other guys course but it was no longer on sale - looking now at his topics vs your - you are way ahead of him (setting themes and users in pfsense, WTF!?)

All in all it was very beneficial. The content was laid out very well and was presented in a great "building block" format. The only thing I was disappointed in was no exercises. I would have appreciated being given assignments, especially regarding firewall rules.

Content is really good, but the way the author speaks is tiring. A more fluent speaking would increase the value of this course for educational purposes massively. But to stop after every spoken word, pronounce it for itself as a stand alone word, taken out of context, makes it extremely difficult to follow the course as a whole. Nobody in regular face to face interactions is speaking like that. I'm not a robot! Even digital assistants like alexa/cortana or siri are speaking more fluent today!

Good course but voice is very mono. Would be better if there is a network diagram at the beginning of each exercise to show what the IPs, route and firewall rules to help visualize what will be done. More advance topics needs more detail.

Course went through the basics of the pfsense setup. Additionally explain some additional tricks and features you can run on the pfsense like IDS and malware scanning. Good content for beginners or someone who need the refresher.
