Gutenberg Block Development for WordPress

Feels rushed and also it only feels like half a course. When finished there is a link to another course you can take to learn more (because this doesn't cover all that much), except it's a broken link and doesn't exist.

Course is outdated in 2021, avoid as it's just a waste of time and money. The static block is the only example working-ish, the CSS on the editor side does not work. The Richtext Block and Inspector Control have both being depreciated, so are pointless to be included. Text Alignment example doesn't work either. The course example plugin CSS doesn't work and the course doesn't show how to save and wrap up the plugin, so I can't see any changes I makes appear in gutenberg.

Learned a lot! But this is not a complete course, its an abridged version. While the course does a good job introducing everything it was still an abridged version, something I was not really expecting so I felt a bit cheated since I thought I was buying a complete course.. Cant really complain for the price though..

The contents are not bad for starting Gutenberg Block Development but this lecture only has very basic steps. The last lecture said that I can go to another website and buy $129 course to learn more.

Beware: this is only an abridged version of a more detailed course that Zac sells on his own website for $129. As a result, many important parts of the complete course were intentionally left out of this abridged version, and it is difficult to make sense of this course if you're new to Gutenberg block development.

I don't know javascript very well, so that is obviously a problem. It's over my head but I'll catch up....

I was happy with this course! The information and guides on Gutenberg is still lacking and this was a good introduction for someone who had a bit of hands-on experience with React already. The "zgordon/gutenberg-course" GitHub repository in particular is an excellent resource for how to build blocks with different kinds of fields. Some topics that I wish were included are field validation and external data fetching.

I do not know React, and the instructor pointing out specifically which pieces of functionality are straight up React helps me learn React along the way.

This does not appear to be a complete course, but shortened version of a longer course being sold separately on the Instructors website.

It could be a very good course, but in the last part of the course the instructor rushed too much and left me confused. I still think it's worth it and would recommend this course for those who want to start building their own Gutenberg blocks without prior knowledge.

Great introduction and explanation of the course so far - I am really happy and comfortable with how things are progressing

A very good course if you are looking for a basic introduction to developing WordPress themes/plugins with the new Gutneberg editor.

Very superficial, the instructor speaks too fast (do you have a plane to catch Zac to be in a hurry like that ?) There are sometimes discrepencies between the videos and the sample code downloaded (RichText desconstructed one time from wp.blocks and the other time from wp.editor, without mentionning if an update has occured). Then, the author indeed stated: "Since Gutenberg is still in development, the course will receive updates as Gutenberg evolves." Not all the samples are explored and it seems that this titorial is a promotionnal video for another longer tutoriel, more expensive, by the author. I will finay keep the sample code to explore it, but the videos are a little useless by the lack of real explanations.

I don't know why anyone needs to know about a stupid JavaScript language which was released in 2009 and why we need to discuss this for 7 minutes instead of sharing the actual​ and required knowledge for the course. So far the course looks good but the ​history of the programming languages are not important at all.

There are few courses on Gutenberg development. Zac provides great examples on a very important subject for Wordpress.
