Learn Greek: Level 1 (Greek Alphabet)

This course was very simple and easy to follow along with. The instructor gave plenty of time to practice the pronunciation so you could say it with him a few times. It was a good starting point to learn the Greek language.

As a begginer in greek, I thought it very positive how to express myself without making mystakes with the letters. I can't wait for more in a near fututre. Could you tell me when you intend to introduce more classes here? I'd like to do more class with you here or via skp or youtube? Is it possible? I hope to hear from you as soon as possible. The course goes through the alphabet and explains how to pronounce correctly the twenty four letters along with four short tests. I have kept on practicing everyday for a week and I can now remember the alphabet, which is brilliant after trying other methods for years. At first I thought the course was a bit expensive but this method of teaching really works.

I didn't realize that I had a pronunciation of the names of the Greek letters that was different from a modern Greek's. I was taught what I know of Greek by teachers who taught me the ancient Greek of the Odyssey of Homer. So it was refreshing and very pleasant to hear and learn the more melodic sounds of the Modern Greek language. I think that your Greek Alphabet course sets a firm foundation for what is to follow. I would welcome learning words and phrases right from the start. You have a confidence in your voice that is welcoming and reassuring that we will not be overwhelmed by the new sounds and go into culture shock! Have you ever considered playing a short clip of your favorite Greek music to begin the lesson with your voice overlaying it, like saying who you are or just "howdy" in Greek? I like that it was short enough not to lose my interest, yet long enough to feel like I got a good value. It also helped that the instructor pronounced both variations of the letter as a non-native speaker and a native speaker would. Thanks for the course.

I’ve been looking for a Greek course for awhile. I like how this one is simple and helps you get the basics down. I’ve tried other courses that claimed to be for beginners but were way to advanced for me. I like that the instructor speaks both English and Greek fluently. I hope to see more courses from this instructor so I can continue learning.

Short and to the point. Finally a foreign language course where the instructor doesn’t speak broken english yet speaks the language he is teaching fluently as well. Definitely rare for udemy in my experience. This is one of those courses that you can go over and actually learn something but not have to invest hours upon hours of your time in one sitting. I learned a lot on my first go around and plan on going over it a few more times to fine tune everything. Thanks for the great course!
