Why take this course?

Setting strong, metric-driven goals for yourself and your organization can be tough, but it’s also incredibly important. In this course, you will learn how to crush your goals by using the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework. This simple method for goal setting is used by many successful companies across the globe, including Google, GE, and Udemy, because they are an excellent method for communicating what each team is working on and how they're measuring their results with the rest of the organization. The framework requires people to write metric-driven results that demonstrate they have achieved their objective. OKRs are also easily cascaded within an organization, so that everyone’s goals align.

This course is led by Shelley Osborne, Head of Learning & Development at Udemy. It is designed for people at all levels, from individual contributors to managers, who want to write strong goals for themselves and their team, and cascade goals within their organization.

In the Goal Crushing course, you will learn how to:

  • Write Objectives and Key Results for yourself and your team to help you communicate the value of  your work with the rest of your organization

  • Use different types of metrics to write value-based key results that demonstrate your impact on your organization

  • Align and cascade goals throughout an organization

  • Document your goals

  • Write your own value-based OKRs

By the end of this course, you will be able to crush your goals by writing strong, metric-driven OKRs. Are you ready? Let’s crush this!

This was short and to the point, very clear, I really came away with a sense that I can apply this to work. However, I thought the example KRs were more like tasks than an indication of the Objective being met.

Its good. some suggestions i thought of are it can be improved with having a add of lecture having an simple example of senarios and 2-3 different types of OKRs can be written based on your experience till now of users having different understanding to better understand which approach is better and with the reason around what is good or incorrect in those OKRs.

The examples they gave are very much not OKRs. The KRs included too many initiatives and not key results. Would recommend a longer class to really dive in to this topic instead of this short one.

It a short, clear and simple course on OKRs. Captures in a quick course the highlights. It could use a bit more insight on the challanges people have when using OKRs.

Sinto-me de facto um pouco desapontado com o tempo despendido, sobre este tema já assisti a conteúdos muito melhores!

Very simplistic approach to OKR, good as a starting point if you know nothing about OKRs, but definitely not enough if you want to dive deeper

The Key Results given by the instructor for Assignment 1 weren't relevant to the Objectives at all! The Objective of the 1st Question was to build a V2 of the company website but the KR's provided as examples were Traffic and Conversion related and had nothing to do with "building" a website. The same was true for 3 of the 4 question scenarios. I'm new to the OKR concept and struggled to come up with my own and clearly so did the instructor...

interesting course, but quite basic, to be relevant to me / for my level of experience it would have to be much more advanced

Hi, thanks for asking some feedback. I am disappointed. First I don't like the format. The example of a trip is like for a child ... Honestly just a text will be faster to read. We can find this content anywhere on the web. The difficulty is to find a measure and this is not cover in this course. Regards

Sim. É muito interessante até ao momento, no entanto falta o desfecho , espero que indiquem casos praticos para melhor assumirmos a aplicabilidade.

I think it has really strong substance, but the writing value based key results could have used more directions or examples in order to understand the exercise a bit more

The framework content is helpful, but to shorten this course, the information pertaining to SMART, BSQ, and V2MOM can be cut. I do not see the value in making the comparison. It's more beneficial to hop into OKR planning. Some exercises are helpful, but admittedly the answers provided by the instructor indicate a higher level understanding of the roles used as examples that someone taking this course may not have, thus, making the student's experience with completing the assignment result in more vague answers.

It was really good match and help me better understand how to work on my goals, personally and professionally. The exercises were good to auto-check my understanding and how to improve. Thanks!

I appreciate how the different goal frameworks are explained and broken down with the advantages and disadvantages of each. Easy to listen to Shelly too.
