Students who complete this course will know how to create, import, and configure users and applications in Okta. After completing this course, students will also be able to create and manage groups, group rules, password policies, and sign-on policies.

Although this course is not intended, specifically, for exam preparation, everything that you learn in this course can be used to prepare for the Okta Certified Administrator exam.

This was a light, but comprehensive overview of some of the capabilities of OKTA. If you’re a seasoned identity professional, it’s going to be very light, but at least gives you again the comprehensive overview of some of the capabilities that exist. If you’re looking for something super in-depth this is not the course you’re looking for but as the title suggests, that’s not what this courses. It was well done quick and easy to consume exactly what I needed.

The course was mostly tailored around an AD integration with OKTA rather than OKTA itself. I missed that whilst reading up to purchase the course. Nevertheless, there were great take aways to use and which I needed to learn regarding OKTA. Especially the OKTA Policy Framework portion. I fortunately knew the other principles covered in the course, which helped.

When explaining Group & Rules, one very simple use case was used, as if that covered the topic. What about AND, OR, XOR, NOT? Are hierarchical groups possible? What happens when one rule adds a user, and another rule excludes the same user? Any suggestions for how to go about clearly naming Groups & Rules so each are easily understood? I didn't see a place for comments in Groups or Rules... so in actual use, do people keep a Word document on the side to document the purpose of each rule? This was FAR too little information here.

Content was pretty good, only thing I would say is that a practice lab should be included with the course over users needing to setup a test environment for themselves.

The two things I had an issue with - free Dropbox as admin? How do you get that? So I was unable to follow the step for the one thing I was really interested in. Secondly, the old version of OKTA makes it challenging to follow along. I could not even find some of the items in the Policy Framework section in the version of OKTA that was my free trial. (New one). It would be great to get this class in a more current version. Other than that, the other items were helpful.
