Game Development Crash Course w/Solar2D: Fast and EASY!

I am a no IT but Engineering professional. This course has give me very good insight information about how games are programmed. I am going further by learning different programming languages and platforms. This course encouraged me to learn further in IT.

This course is disappointing because it's old and one of the critical components of the course is no longer available (OutlawGameTool IDE). The instructor is obviously insightful and passionate about the topic, and I'm sure this was a phenomenal course at one time. However, the course is built around using the Outlaw IDE with Corona. You'll find that the IDE is no longer available, making the instruction useless.

As it is a crash course, it tends to explain all things fast but though, some concepts that we found important are missing, like creating the emulator, installing Corona SDK, like that. It could be more better

A great course for people who would like a refresher in an engaging way for mobile game development. Everything is easy to understand and would recommend to beginners for mobile game development or even game development over all. Thanks for the experience and looking forward to more.

He manage to show in a nutshell using simplified example that is easy to understand and with could be apply to more comprehensive development.

Gets right into what you can do with corona sdk and lua. This course definlety wants me to take a more in depth course to build games.

I was playing a game that was simply collecting cookies and i just HAD to learn how it was done. I was told it was using Corona SDK so i took a look online at free courses and came across this. Now, as a beginner with zero knowledge, i was sceptical about how this was going to work out. Nervous in fact, that it may be too quick to keep up but i got to say that this guy absolutely nailed teaching this for beginners. I've re-done this course twice and the second time round, I've got myself a working game and even more so, it's got me wanting to delve deeper into the code and start adding to it already. He was right. If you type the code in manually yourself, you learn a lot quicker and in the space of less than a week, I think I've finally got the hang of the basics. For free, you cannot fault this course, and if you're interested in learning LUA/CoronaSDK... this is definitely your starting point. The guy is engaging and you can't help but smile as you follow him along. J.A if you're reading this, thank you man. You've probably just set me up to learn my own game now. I'm no longer afraid. PS. You sound like Jon Favreau (iron man movies) guessing you're from Queens? xD

Never thought that this crash course will be so fun and exciting... had enough ideas to continue venturing in game development.

I had two enemies appearing at the same time and the game kept crashing. I went back over the videos and checked my code and it was the same. After this I lost interest in the course but still watched the remaining videos. This was annoying :(

he keeps things interesting not dull when hes teaching he seemed a little rushed towards then end and didn't walk through the step like how he started out i found myself going back to re watch parts of videos just to see the full code he implemented.

Excellent teacher! Watching this in 2017 and it's awesome. He goes fast in this but it's called a "Crash course" and I was able to keep up.

It is very interesting the instructor is very clear and fluent,I am gaining more knowledge about the course

changed material off-seeing students and doesnt warn about it, which leads most of beginners to trouble

feels a little too jumpy from place to place i'm lost at some points how we got where we are. Once you go thru it go thru it again and it will make more sense
