What you will learn

Design a 3D printable led tea light that turns on and off.

Feel comfortable tackling multi-part designs by effectively using components and other design tools in Fusion 360.

Take a design from concept to working prototype.

Why take this course?

This course is an excellent sequel to the Designing For 3D Printing with Fusion 360 course by Vladimir Mariano.  We learn how to tackle a multi-part design by taking advantage of using components and other powerful design tools in Fusion 360.  We will design an LED tea light that functions as a mechanical switch and can be used to light up our other 3d prints.  It's an excellent example of using 3d printing for practical and functional designs.

At the end of this course you will have gained the design skills and confidence to take a multi-part design from concept to 3d printed prototype.

We will cover many sketching and modeling concepts and also go through some best practices when designing for 3d printing such tolerances needed for a snug fit when assembling two or more parts.

I will guide you through easy to follow step by step instructions as we create a rewarding model.

Course was easy to follow, I created the parts needed to make the LED light and i'm printing it right now. The instructor goes at a perfect pace and has a Bob Ross style about him that takes the friction out of learning new concepts. Big fan of these courses, they are fun too!

Really great, just like the intro course that I went through from the same instructor. The feedback that I have, and this applies to the other course as well, is that I wish there was a similar object that I was supposed to model as practice between the different sections. Kind of like a "homework" object so to speak, to reinforce the concepts.

Great stuff. Clear instructions, and it's nice to see how additional hardware can be incorporated. There are also some great gems of information around how nozzle extrusion effects actual dimensions as compared to theoretical (Fusion 360 set) dimensions in the final print.

While the "Designing for 3D Printing with Fusion 360" course from him is great, this one felt that did not hit the point too much. I was expecting to learn more about components and not so much about modeling a LED switch. He focus on the later than on the components, which where incidentally covered in the course. I think I didnt learn nothing new here, just enjoyed watching his way of modeling.

After taking his "Designing for 3D Printing with Fusion 360", I am happy to find this course teaching you how to create more complex objects with components. This course is well planned and organized and what you learn from this course is readily applicable to your own projects. I highly recommend this course.

Good follow up course after beginner course. Learn new methods and helps develop proper methods, and techniques. Even if you understand a bunch of different functions this course helps you understand how to apply them in a better way.

As good as the first course. I'm learning a lot in this. Sometimes its not obvious why the instructor doies something a certain way (like constraints), but as I've worked out its so it can be changed later without major rework needed.

Great match to the level I was starting with. Really enjoyed the breaking things down into components. It was a great follow on course to the first one. There were a few moments where I wish he was on the latest version of Fusion 360 to see if he encountered the same few quirks I did. However, they were small quirks that I easily worked through because of the intuitive Fusion 360 interface so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Second course I have taken, and the content is great, however my criticism from my other review stands. It is not worth the price for it being outdated information. I look forward to some future, up-to-date classes. I feel I have leaned a lot.

Just another great course by Vladimir Mariano! I have learned really valuable things about how to design with components and a lot of other features I was not still aware of from Fusion 360º. I can only recommend this course to anyone who is starting in the 3D design world, as this is my case and I learned a lot, all in a really practical way. However, I have been unable to print the LED lamp correctly with my GEETECH Mizar S, although I followed all the course instructions. Also, in my Fusion 360º it is not possible to change the top axis from Z to Y, which makes a bit difficult to follow some parts of the course.

I think its okay, nothing special. The real only new thing I learned was using section analysis, but I feel that one can learn that on themselves. I think it was useful in general to see how to see how components fit together, but I feel that could also be easily learned from experience.

half way through i thought i wasted my money but then he started going into tips i have never seen. also he takes you through the real flow of things including going back to edit past errors. will buy another course for further learning from him

I've done a lot of self directed video courses and have encountered my share of good and bad. The audio was consistent throughout and not bouncing all over the place forcing me to constantly adjust my volume. Each section was short enough to give me the feeling of progression keeping me motivated. Instructions were clear and I didn't feel like I was struggling to listen to him while trying to follow the visuals. Presentation was good keeping me focused. I didn't find myself nodding off at any time :0

It was a good course. I would have liked a deeper dive on the extrusion width section. I have a 0.6mm nozzle and often run into issues when printing someone else's design.

All in all a very good course with many hints and tipps! Since you used an Old Fusion Version, it was somehow difficult to find some features in the actual version.
