Vehicle dynamics is the study of  behavior of vehicles in motion . The study is one of the most important activities in the Vehicle design and development cycle to design vehicles which drive well and are comfortable to ride in.

In this course, you will learn the

  • Concepts and mechanisms which govern the actions and reactions in vehicles all the way from how vehicles accelerate, brake, turn and respond to vibrations.

  • The Theory and concepts behind suspension design process including concepts of kinematics and vibration isolation.

This course will first build on the very basics of automotive engineering and Newtons laws of physics , friction etc and then move on to explain the phenomena taking place between the Vehicle and the road in different circumstances. At each section of the course you will be taking away insightful concepts with the understanding of How? and Why?

The course is filled with 5+ hours of conceptual learning which lays a strong foundation to understand the more advanced concepts of vehicle dynamics and suspension design.

This is not a mathematically intensive course and it doesn't aim to delve deep into the numerical treatment of dynamics rather aims to explain the underlying principles and concepts which are at play to govern the behavior of the vehicles.

You might have come across terms like roll, under-steer, camber ,caster and many more but don't really know what they mean and how important they are for the vehicle. This course will clear out those concepts.

The person speaking over the course gets confused about what he wants to say. I would say this particular course is really for those who have no idea about vehicle dynamics. Its difficult to follow sometimes when the person who's speaking gets lost or confused mid sentance.

I do not recommend it. It does present a long and comprehensive series of concepts and calculations on vehicle dynamics, but the order and form do not allow for a deep learning of how vehicle behaviour varies depending on the different parameters.

While the content is good, the lack of practical examples hurts the comprehension of the course. Showing different analysis cases would have been helpful to demonstrate and understand better, while also moving concepts into real world scenarios.

It's a course designed for F1 enthusiasts and kids who want to learn few concepts in automobile engineering. It's pretty much useless for engineering students who want to learn the important concepts in vehicle dynamics. Also, the narrator just reads from the slides and almost never explains the concepts.

Vertical and Longitudinal Dynamics could include better Ride related tests and definitions - Bounce, sprung and unsprung natural freq. calculations - Ks and Kt in series and parallel etc..

If the teaching aids were animated, for example, to show geometry movements of the respective suspension types, students would be better geared towards understanding of the teachings. I have been looking up videos of animation of suspensions on YouTube to supplement my learnings here. Apart from that, it's been a fruitful time with Rasheed. ;P

This course is exactly what I need... very informative, easy to follow along and starts from the basics. Only reason why I didn’t give a five star is because of the audio. A little bit of static noise, but that’s not a big deal. I’m still enjoying the course. It’s a subject I wanted to study a long time ago.

This isn't a beginner course unless you already know all of the topics covered in this course. Assuming everyone understands every topic shouldn't be the teaching model for what's labeled as a "beginner" course. Things are explained without providing the definitions and details for them which unfortunately.
