I love all of Chris's material. My nemesis is the QA and writing notes on links to studies. Kudos on content. Navigation at this point is bewildering.

The format of the course was not answering my needs and questions. Half on interview, half on exploratory practices. still interesting and really based on a holistic approach, but not precise and compacted enough for my needs.

First of all I have really liked the course til now. This is a work in progress so as more sections gets added my review may/will change. Now Chris certainly underscores the importance of maintaining good health which most of us are aware but conveniently ignore. Atleast I have till now thinking age is on my side. Though I am yet to touch 40, but health wise I am obese and lack motivation. So the 30 day challenge has certainly inspired me to follow brisk exercise at home and do intermittent fasting. Lets see how things go then I can increase my physical exercise later on. Really liked the various video segments with Chris Zaremba. He certainly highlighted some useful point on losing fat but not losing muscle. Lets see how things goes...

I found this course from Chris to be interesting, entertaining and useful. One of the reasons is that he spends time explaining concepts which I had taken for granted – such as the physical process of ageing, its link to frailty and tips and techniques to combat the unwanted effects of getting older. The video clips from other experts add to this base of information, as do the interviews with Chris (yes, another Chris) who had made a massive change to his own life by increasing his fitness, and reducing his fatness, from being obese at age 50. To be fair there are others who have also lost a substantial amount of weight over a period of time (Adele for example) but Chris Z is the only one as far as I know who has lost weight AND replaced a lot of the fat with muscle. Hence the ‘fat to fit’ rather than ‘fat to less fat’! The pictures, news articles and video clips (not least the picture of the trophy cabinet!) show Chris’s success in the transformation. Add to that the fact that this was all done at middle-age (when weight is a lot harder to lose and poor eating routines are well embedded in the sedentary lifestyle) then that is a remarkable achievement. The cutaways to countryside shots add to the calming effect, and provide time for the viewer to reflect on what has been explained and demonstrated. The opportunity to ask questions via the Q&A function is also useful, and provides a direct link into Chris (the first Chris!) to tap his extensive knowledge base. The varied locations used, and the selection of other videos, ensure that none of the lectures become a monotonous time of him lecturing the viewer by constantly speaking to camera. There is always something coming up that is a little different. The entertainment aspect is helped by Chris’ rather dry sense of humour. It takes a little getting used to, but you can see how he brings a light touch occasionally to lift what I think can be a dry and heavy subject. Finally, the closing segments showing Chris performing different exercises and activities over a multiple-day period is useful on a practical level. There certainly is a substantial element of instruction here, combined with a feeling that he wants the viewer to know that if he can do it, then you can do as well. The course is advertised as ‘Frail to fit in 50 lectures’ but I get the feeling that new lectures are being added as the course progresses – not least the ’30 day section’ which only covers the first few days. This means that the course will be updated on an ongoing basis which will make the information even more current. In summary, I would recommend this course to anyone that is concerned about the ageing process, especially the negative aspects, in themselves or in others. It will add to your knowledge in an interesting and entertaining way, and will help you to make those first steps in fighting frailty for yourself.
