Why take this course?

A course designed for those wanting a more intensive level of training in first aid. The course covers preparations for entering the wilderness, and assessments to be used when evaluating the injured in remote locations, where medical assistance is not readily available. A course designed for students with basic skills wanting advanced training and exposure to advance techniques. The course covers assessment techniques, CPR, wound treatment, burn treatment, allergic reactions and much more. It is a condensed version of the full two day courses taught as wilderness first aid in many states. Students need to complete CPR, First Aid, and Introduction to Emergencies as prerequisites.

Structure of the course is simple. Course has a lot of information of different scenarios. What I found lacking was practical first aid procedures to perform to actually aid patient. How to wrap a wound, how to wrap an strained ancle or how to actually perform ABCDE. Another good samples would be how to layer clothing to combat hypothermia or how to secure head with makeshift items in case of cervical injuries. Insect and snakebites lecture was total dissapointment as it was lacking everything practical. Also adding metric system side by side with imperial would serve students out of US, like myself. Review questions was a good quiz and wrapped lectures up. Also might want to look at lecture 9 (focused assessment), as audio and video are 1,5minutes out of sync. Average course but with more work could be fantastic. 3,5/5

This is just basic first aid with some extra stuff thrown in. In a lot of the video's you see the guy talking but no sound.

Clear speaker, easy to understand. More visuals needed. Speaker kept cutting out before finishing. Would recommend.

This course covers the basics and is no substitute for actual hands on training. The information presented is exceptional and logical. This is a great starting point!

Will definitely be recommending this to friends. It's a great review for people with some knowledge of first aid. (Take his other first aid courses first, if you're new to the topic.)

Great foundational class to focus on further exploration. Brings great perspectives on things to consider to be a successful lay responder.
