I have enjoyed the flow of the class and the intermixing of business and technical. Being my current area is in sales and marketing automation, I don't necessarily agree with everything Richard says about how to market. There are some tips and tricks to develop and leveraging marketing content as well as discerning where to market. My 20 years experience in development, quality assurance and maintenance gets rubbed a little in the time required for bug fixes as I know that test and quality assurance plans as well as peer reviews can minimize the user testing and troubleshooting effort. Overall, a great class so far.

We subscribe to all Richard Carlton training materials. Before we start any new FileMaker project or functional enhancement we dip into these courses which represent as far as we are concerned baseline best practice.
We have embarked upon projects which without these materials we would have thought twice about undertaking.
Great work and you will no doubt learn when watching these videos that Richard is also a hell of nice guy.

This course is about building a business around FileMaker development or using FileMaker to run your business back-end, not learning to use the software. Get his learning FileMaker Pro course too. You won't find the expertise and production quality from other FileMaker trainers. Also, Richard and his staff are extremely responsive to assistance requests. Yes I said his staff. He's not just an individual making a course. Richard is the owner of a full consulting and FM education company with decades of experience, who just happens to be expanding to Udemy. I'm just somebody interested in learning FileMaker and potentially building an income with it, and Richard (and staff) have given me their valuable time via email & phone. I greatly appreciate that amount of investment in his students' success!

Richard is turning me into a entrepreneur one video at a time!! His teaching style uses lots of real world and practical analogies making the concepts much easier to learn. Each of the videos are crafted in a professional way with plenty of animations and other visual aids. Its clearly a cut above most other Udemy courses. I'm passing this course on to all of my colleagues.
