its refreshing to have an instructure who has done their research, is obviously in the industry, and knows what he is doing practically.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course and got so much out of it; I have followed a number of courses on Udemy, and to be honest I have been happy with all of them, but this course and what I have got from it is on another level. First of all the games created are fun in and of themselves, and they make really good coding exercises altering them and making slight corrections and additions. I had used Javascript before, but I really enjoyed that section of the course; it is a really good overview, and I learned a lot of new things and new approaches (both in Javascript and coding generally). The usage of the AI and how to prompt it has opened up so many ideas for me. Using it for similar projects to this course and exploring other coding ideas is excellent, but I have found a lot of the methods in interacting with it apply to many other things too (historical research, business ideas, music, language learning); the processes taught in this course have enabled me to get some brilliant results.

This is the second of Andre's courses I have completed and this course is excellent. Andre goes out of his way to explain things in detail and always answers your questions. Andre's subject knowledge and experience is tremendous. Andre's books and game dev skills have been recommend by people like Steve Wozniak (cofounder of Apple) and Nolan Bushnell (founder of Atari), both of whom wrote forwards to Andre's books on game development, which are included in the course resources for free. The books alone are worth much more than the price of this course. If you are a skilled JavaScript and HTML developer, you can skip forward a little in the lectures. I took the time to go through them all because I felt like I needed a refresher. But if you don't want or need a review, you need to start with Lesson 1 and skip forward. I think Lesson 26 (graphics and animation) is a good place to pick up from.

This course doesnโ€™t deserve less than 5 stars. I mean, his content is priceless. Itโ€™s truth that sometimes could be slow but itโ€™s the way that Andre can reach also people than never have been in touch with code, and he warns when advance people should skip some classes. Sometimes could benefit you and sometimes slow down, but itโ€™s undeniable his effort, passion and dedication with his classes and all his students (not only in this course but also in Crash Course Electronic). Thanks Andre for spreading your knowledge with the world and Iโ€™m anxious to see the next one you are preparing for next year. Itโ€™s dangerous to make a course that involves IA due to his fast evolution, but this course give you more than a good grasp to make your owns videogame even if IA grows more (furthermore, Andre works hard and try to make bonus to not being out of date).

I'm really impressed by the amount of work that's gone into this. The attention to detail is unlike anything I've seen. Detailed notes, thorough breakdowns, great explanations, and software recommendations. A lot of work went into this and I am grateful for it.

Just the fact that Andre replies to every single question makes this course deserve 5 starts. The content is really good, I'm a web dev and the HTML, CSS & JS sections (which are needed to learn how to develop games) are really good! I'm waiting for the next course :P

He uses canvas and its 2d context to draw graphics (no WebGL, no shader programs). The first part is a bit boring, but approachable. More than half of the videos is about basic JavaScript. The second part about ChatGPT is not engaging. He shows the prompts that generate basic templates of games, but the final polishing and skinning is done offline. At the end he shows a game and reads through its code. This part is boring as hell

Almost 4 hrs in and all we have done is write "Hello World". Also if you ever need to reference back to anything said or learned they videos and rambley that it makes it hard to find anything.

Oh just awesome! I used to program games in basic and loved this kind of stuff, especially the math and the how-to tips and tricks with paint programs and pixel editors. A lot of stuff today is done for you which takes away from the magic. learning how stuff works under the hood brings the excitement back.

The course is awesome. The content is easy to watch since you don't have to stop to write code during the video or to code along, the code you will find on the resources is more than enough for you to work on, test and tweak. You can jump around the episodes and everything will still make sense, there is always a short intro on what's going on, just keep watching. There is math and physics theory in the course, the useful parts, explained in an easy way, that was delightful to watch, I'm not a math fan but this was really easy to understand, thank you for drawing it :) I've just finished it and my next mini AI game is about to go live.

I found the first video very helpful, primarily because it gave an overview of all of the tools required. Paint Shop Pro, boy those were the days, Awesome!

It's slow, plodding, and the examples are uninspired and completely focused on math examples rather than getting to the heart of what would be inspirational--game development. Too much of the basic incremental over too long a period for me.

Learning from Andre Lamothe is never a regret, this course helps you to learn, debug and understand HTML, JavaScript and CSS the easier and faster way. With his legacy tips and hints in teaching programming is really enlightening. No doubt, five stars given.

Just started the course, but so far so good! Plan to get through the material much faster than a normal course, by using ChatGPT.
